Inspirés par les constructions naturelles et leurs struc- tures, les designers donnent vie à des figures sculpturales mais épurées, comme L’Oiseau (2) ou encore l’ Algue, une composition d’éléments en matière synthétique qui res- semblent à des plantes aquatiques et qui s’assemblent à la manière d’un tissage. Considérant la couleur comme un territoire à explorer, ils l’invitent au cœur de leurs créa- tions convoquant ainsi émotion et intensité. Cette dernière prend tout son sens dans les œuvres picturales de Ronan (1), où la main de l’artiste suit une pensée intuitive, comme la chorégraphie de son subconscient. Ils multiplient les collabora- tions avec les marques comme Ligne Roset pour l’irresis- tible canapé Ploum (3) ou Vitra, Artek, Flos, Glas Italia ou encore Samsung pour laquelle ils réalisent The Serif (4), un téléviseur à la silhouette épurée doté d’une fonctionnalité permettant l’affichage de motifs poétiques et décoratifs. Ainsi, les frères s’émancipent des codes comme le prouve leur récent projet avec Virgil Abloh, directeur artistique de Louis Vuitton, homme et fondateur de la marque Off-White. Tel un accomplissement, les deux frères ont été nommés chevaliers de la Légion d’honneur en 2020, laissant une empreinte indélébile dans le monde du design. Seul, on va plus vite, mais ensemble, on va plus loin.
Inspired by natural constructions and their structures, the designers give life to sculptural yet refined figures, such as their Oiseau (2) and Algue, a composition of synthetic elements resembling aquatic plants and assembled in a weave-like manner. Regarding color as a territory to be explored, they invite it into the heart of their creations, thus summoning emotion and intensity. The latter takes on its full meaning in Ronan’s pictorial works (1), where the artist’s hand follows intuitive thought, like the choreography of his subconscious. They collaborate with brands such as Ligne Roset for the irresistible Ploum sofa (3), Vitra, Artek, Flos, Glas Italia, as well as with Samsung for whom they created The Serif (4), a television set featuring a refined silhouette equipped with a function allowing the display of poetic and decorative motifs. The brothers thus break free of existing design codes, as shown by their recent project with Louis Vuitton Men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh and founder of the Off-White brand. As if to crown their accomplishments, the two brothers were appointed Chevaliers de la Légion d’honneur in 2020 , confirming their indelible imprint on the design world.
