THE WORK OF THE BIBLE WOMEN
Mrs. T. C. Horton, Supt.
F DR the Lyceum Club we can only say “See what God hath wrought” and praise Him for this definite, fruitful work for fhe young women of our city. Never a meeting without some soul saved or some wanderer brought back to our Lord; never a week but that some new girls are not moved to take up a work, however .small, for their Master. A large number have entered the Institute as students from the Club, and many more will follow in the future. These young women certainly practice daily the Club motto, “For the other girl.” High School work is well started for a new year. In each Bible class we find new enthusiasm in study and pronounced interest in bringing new members into classes. We find some difficulty in meet ing the new demands but find, also,' “He is able.” The Rose Room is being ubed daily for conference, counsel and prayer. —H. Last Thursday the Lord encouraged my heart by bringing to Himself through the Word given, a young woman, wife of a car man. I am sure God heard that simple, earnest prayer.—W. There were but three in the tent at the appointed hour. Before the first hymn was ended a woman appeared at the door. The first invitatiqn to come in was refused, but she finally accepted a book and in spite of interruptions remained and began ask ing questions which by God’s grace we were enabled to answer. God had pre pared the way by allowing her to take an overdose of medicine which nearly took her life a few days before, and when after the class Christ was presented to her, she. bowed her head and said, “Lord, Jesus, I receive Thee as my Saviour,” then looking at the teacher' she added, “And I mean it.” —C. The following is a testimony to God’s faithfulness: A young woman who knew she had been saved when quite young, be.- came entangled in the pleasures of the world and spent many years in a worldly, pleasure-seeking life. A worker found her one day and God spoke to her heart and gave her a vision of Jesus that com pletely changed her whole life. Through her the husband was saved. They invited a worker to their house recently and would have .spent hours poring over the Word of God, so anxious are they to un-
