Green Mountain Red Angus - Annual Bull Sale [3/17/26]

Welcome

GREEN MOUNTAIN RED ANGUS

Welcome to Green Mountain RED Angus!

What a year! We have seen incredible sales stats, from feeder cattle to breeding stock. All indicators are saying that this market should remain steady. Consumer consumption has statistically remained the same throughout the last year, even with the increase in pricing. Demand for quality beef is strong! Many of you have been involved in the Red Angus Feeder Calf Certification Program (FCCP) and we have always offered ‘A-Bag-A-Bull.’ The FCCP Pro- gram has officially been rebranded as Angus Access, utilizing 840 EID tags, rather than the yellow dangle tag. Angus Access reflects a bold evolution of the beef industry’s first genetic, age and source verification program (FCCP) – built to USDA-approved stan- dards. In a marketplace that is increasingly adopting private labels and case-ready beef solutions, Angus Access equips Red Angus producers to meet that demand by offering the traceability, verification and data integrity desired today. It is a deliberate move to position Red Angus producers for success in the evolving landscape of beef production and retail. RAAA is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for current FCCP customers. Previously purchased dangle or combo tags are valid through July 1, 2027; however, beginning Jan. 1, 2026, 840 EID tags will become the only program-compliant tags issued for both Angus Access and Allied Access. This shift to EID technology is designed to improve traceability, reduce tag loss and meet the evolving requirements of domestic and export markets. It enables automated reading and data collection throughout the production chain, minimizing the need for manual visual reads at the backgrounder, feedlot and processor. The level of transparency enabled by EID technology is increasingly expected in vertically aligned beef supply chains. Programs that deliver verified, trans- parent production practices not only help meet the requirements of processors but also improve consumer trust. Studies show that programs backed by transparent production practices can increase consumer favorability by more than 80%, boosting brand loyalty and repeat purchases. Angus Access rebrand will position Red Angus producers at the forefront of a more transparent, data-informed and retail-connected beef industry. The crew at Green Mountain continues to work hard promoting our customers’ cattle. We have always encouraged participation in FCCP. The move to Angus Access supports broader industry efforts to secure recognition of Red Angus cattle within Angus-branded beef programs and will position Red Angus producer’s participation in premium markets. Our partnerships with Superior Livestock, Allied Feeding Partners, and Top Dollar Angus continue to allow us to provide marketing options and opportunities. We would like to thank you for putting your trust in our program. We hope you enjoy looking at the genetic packages offered in this catalog. Please reach out if you would like any additional information to help with your genetic selections. We look forward to seeing you on sale day!

Yerig Bul There is a lot of power backing up a moderate birth weight. Growth accelerated throughout test, giving an ADG ratio of 107. Phenotypic evaluations are outstanding. A square rear quarter accentuates a broad top and chest floor. Extra capacity and abundant spring of rib are evident. Everything comes together with a perfect set of feet and leg scores. The index group is at the leading edge and sets the stage for an extremely uniform set of growth, maternal and carcass EPDs. His marbling sits in the top 6% and is the 4th highest in the offering. All profit drivers are in evidence from pheno- type to genotype.

This bull catches your attention every time you walk in the pen. He is just an absolute powerhouse, from extra length to tons of capacity and spring of rib to a thick, deep rear quar- ter. His personal performance and numbers set him apart as an absolute curve-bender. His growth accolades put him in the top rankings of the DDRA class. He has the #3 adjusted WW and WR, #1 actual and adjusted YW and YR, and the #1 actual weight gains and ratios for ADG and WDA. His ADG ratio sits at an impressive 134! EPDs are breed-leading with 2 indices in single digit percentiles, top 1/3rd BW and CED and top 1% growth. All carcass profit drivers sit in the top quarter of the breed or higher. His young dam is currently posting a 104 MPPA. This is as close to a ‘no-holes’ bull as you will find!

GREEN MOUNTAIN RED ANGUS When this bull walked in for his phenotypic evaluation everyone paid attention! Comments: thick and deep rear quarter, straight top, masculine fronted, expressive muscle pattern, extra length, capacity and heart girth. All of that sits on top of a perfect set of feet and leg marks and he strides out nicely. Performance is top-notch culminating with a 117 ADG and 111 WDA ratio. He posts the best actual YW and 2nd highest adjusted YW, actual WW, and ADG of the GMRA class. His EPD profile just hits it on all fronts with sin- gle-digit percentiles throughout and only four numbers that are not in the top half of the breed. His maternal pedigree is strong with the first five generations posting MPPAs up to 105 and a dam with a 104.

This may just be the most impressive Investment son we’ve ever raised! He is an absolute powerhouse with a broad top that carries down through extra capacity, depth and thick- ness and a broad chest floor. There is a smooth, yet pow- erful muscle pattern sitting atop an excellent set of wheels. A perfect BW leads to standout growth that calculates to a 112 ADG ratio. The number profile shows a strong set of rankings with all growth indicators at the very top of the breed, while carcass stays very strong, as do maternal num- bers. The maternal pedigree is full of performance-minded females, including the dam of GMRA EBV 266 and MPPAs all 100 or higher for 50 years! The dam is currently 105 on 3 calves, with an average WR of 107. Her first calf was chosen out of the replacement pen as the pick of all bred and open heifers in our 2023 Big Sky Elite sale. This moderate Jumpstart son is a great cross with the King James maternal side. A low birthweight doesn’t repress the masculinity and power. Look for extra length, depth of rib and thickness with a broad chest floor. He is out of a first-calf heifer that is a product of the high-performance Larkaba cow family. This bull’s dam was sold in our 2024 Big Sky Elite sale as the pick of our bred heifers. After calv- ing, she started to lose condition and never came out of it. We let the owner pick a new bred heifer and we got the calf back to graft to a cow who had lost hers. This low birthweight twin wouldn’t be in the offering if he hadn’t kept growing through yearling, showing a great phenotype. He received top marks for capacity, depth of rib and rear quarter. He is broad topped, yet smooth made and well put together. EPDs prove out a curve bender status with single-digit percentiles for BW and all growth numbers.
