June 8: Summer Chef Series Luncheon On June 8, Markham Vineyards in St. Helena will host the first of its three luncheons highlighting female chefs. Upon arriving at the event, noon-2 p.m., attendees can indulge in a pre- event pour before gathering in the Historic Stone Cellar, 2812 St. Helena Highway North, for a meal of cedar- plank King Salmon from local Napa Valley chef Sarah Walz. There will also be live music from Brazilian and American duo Monica De Silva and Chad Alger. Tickets can be purchased on markhamvineyards.com and are $150 for club members or $160 for non-members.
May 17-19: Cosmico Music & Art Festival From May 17-19 Dawn Ranch, 16467 Highway 116, Guerneville, will host the Cosmico Music & Art Festival. The Bay Area-founded
June 5 to July 3: Lavendar at Sunset Head to Bees ‘N’ Blooms, 3883 Petaluma Hill Road in Petaluma, from June 5 to July 3 and bask in the sweet scents of the lavender fields. The organic lavender labyrinth and flower garden is the perfect setting for a warm picnic in the sun. The lavender farm will open at 6 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. while the farmstand will be open from 6-7 p.m. Various lavender products—honey to essential oils, bath bombs, soaps and lotions—will be available for purchase. nonprofit festival aims to give back to up-and-coming artists by supporting their creative efforts giving back to the community. The lineup includes artists like Susto, Sam Grisman, Jeffrey Arevalo to name a few. This event will include family activities, live music, opportunities to connect with nature and more. The festival runs from 5-10 p.m. for all three days. Ticket prices start at $100 and can be purchased at cosmi.co/tickets.
June 14: Cooking Class: Spices Expand your palate with this cooking class at Cakebread Cellars focused on utilizing spices from Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East. There are reservations available for June 14 at 9:30 a.m. To start, there will be jerk chicken wings, grilled za’atar flatbread with muhummarah and lemongrass swordfish brochettes. Then a three-course lunch including roasted heirloom carrots with dukkah and burrata, ufra-spiced lamb ribeye with Turkish onion salad and chai ice cream sandwiches. Each course will also be paired with a Cakebread Cellar wine, 8300 St. Helena Highway in Rutherford. Tickets are $275 per person or $250 for club members and can be purchased at cakebread.com/events. html .
May 18: Find Your Wave, with Jeff Clark Jeff Clark, a respected big-wave surfer, will retell the story of surfing some of the world’s largest waves at Mavericks Beach in El Granada. On May 18, Clark will present at the Charles M. Schulz Museum, 2301 Hardies Lane in Santa Rosa, from 1-2 p.m. Clark is a multi-disciplined waterman, surfboard shaper, innovator and entrepreneur who finds his greatest peace and life lessons in the raw power of the ocean. The event is included with the price of museum admission—adults $12, youth (ages 4-18) $5. Visit schulzmuseum.org for more information.
June 14-16: Country Summer Music Festival Country Summer is back and with some big names—artists include Old Dominion, Little Big Town, Brett Young and more. Presented by Bud Light, the country music festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary on June 14. Taking place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennet Valley Road in Santa Rosa, from June 14-16; three- day passes as well as single-day passes are now available for purchase at countrysummer.com .
