Bodega murals Michael Duté, an international artist from San Francisco and Berlin, Germany was commissioned to paint two murals for Black Kite Cellars on March 31. Duté specializes in fine art interiors, creating murals to bring these dull buildings to life. With over 30 years of experience, Duté prides himself on attention to detail and his exceptional brushwork. Though his murals have taken him around the globe, one of Duté’s favorite locations is Napa Valley.
Duté created two murals of the winery’s namesake bird, the Black Shouldered Kite, to adorn a quaint bodega structure in front of the Jasper House location.
The Black Shouldered Kite can be seen preparing for take-off with its wings agape in the historic town of Freestone.
