HOW TO MAN UP AND DOMINATE YOUR PATH Take Control of Your Life, Vision, Team, and Mindset

I’ve got two words for people who want to have more success in their life: MAN UP. Which also happens to be the name of my book coming out July 2018. I wrote this book because I want to help other entrepreneurs avoid falling into the same traps I did in my health, relationships, mindset, and productivity. By the end of 2014, after numerous anxiety attacks, I finally decided enough was enough and told myself, “It’s time to man up.” So now, I’m going to share the five pillars you need in order to man up and take control of your own life and business. Be Decisive Indecision has cost entrepreneurs more time and money than not making a decision. Not making a decision is making a decision. It is letting circumstances take control of the outcome, and 99.9 percent of the time, the outcome isn’t in your favor. Every decision you make doesn’t have to be the right decision; you just have to make a decision quickly. And if it’s the wrong decision, you can course correct. In my book, I teach you to start making small decisions fast so you can make the bigger decisions quickly as well. Clarity of Vision With Fit Body Boot Camp back in 2014, I didn’t know if I wanted 100, 1,000, or 5,000 locations. For me, this was a big struggle. It showed my team they had a leader who was a drifter. So I got clear on my vision: I want 2,500 locations and 1,000 owners or less by the year 2020. Clarity of Path Now that I had a clear vision, I needed a path to get there. I was the guy doing everything, which means I was also the bottleneck. So I outsourced the marketing for lead generation and replicated myself through more salespeople. All of a sudden, our number of new locations per month went from 3 to 5 to 30. If you have a clear vision, and you stray a little off, then you can course correct and get back on the path. Don’t Emotionally React An effective leader doesn’t emotionally react under stress. They respond. When you emotionally react to problems, the people around you see you as a chaotic, ineffective leader, and they start looking for an out. You don’t want to be the boss who walks in to a room and puts everyone on

edge because they don’t know what’s going to set you off that day. Make your business a place of sanctuary for your team members to become the highest performers possible. Build a High-Performance Team Fighter jets are the high performers who take ownership and exceed expectations. Crop dusters are those who are fine with being average and lack motivation. Fighter jets show up early, leave late, get the job done, and cross the finish line no matter what. Crop dusters clock in a little late, clock out a little early, and do the bare minimum to keep their job. Constantly set the bar higher for yourself, and set those same expectations for your team members. If you can meet these five pillars, then you have manned up. And fortunately, it bleeds into your health, your finances, and your relationships. Manning up is an ongoing feat, and the moment you stop manning up is the moment you drive off your path. This year, we had a

Fit Body Family nearly bought out the whole toys section at a local Target.

The Marines from Toys for Tots gave us a hand as we packed two huge storage trucks with toys. It was surreal to see all those toys and to imagine all the smiles we would soon put on children’s faces. We did that with all of the money raised by our Fit Body Family! Crazy, huh? We donated the rest of the money directly to Toys for Tots. And yes, the money our Canadian Family made even went to the Toys for Tots in Canada. Again, we couldn’t have done any of this without the Family, especially those of you who did everything you could to raise money. So, we gave you something in return for your help, and some of you guys are already using it to entice prospects to your New Year’s promos: a sizzle reel and a press release! The sizzle reel highlights our Million Dollar Mission and shows how your FBBC was part of something charitable and special. You can use that, along with the press release, to get some major media traction for your New Year’s promos. Bedros was thrilled with this year’s efforts, though he already has his sights set on next year’s Mission — one he promises will be even bigger and better. “This was so much bigger than what we did last year,” says Bedros. “Next year, our goal is to get every Family member on board to help us do even more good through Toys for Tots!”

couldn’t take it easy anymore. We wanted every child, regardless of where they come from or who they are, to have at least one gift under the tree for Christmas. So we revved up our engine and jump-started our Toys for Tots Million Dollar Mission, our big push to raise as much money as we could for Toys for Tots during the holidays. Thanks to you guys, our Fit Body Fam, we spent $250,000 on toys for Toys for Tots on Dec. 2! You ran our Blast Fat, Give Back promotion and donated extra out of the kindness of your hearts. THANK YOU.

But the buck didn’t stop there …

Our team worked around the clock to secure a deal with Target, one of the most recognizable brands on the face of the planet. They were thrilled to work with us and came out to our big day on Dec.2, when our HQ Staff and

If you ever visit one of Dustin Bogle’s four Fit Body locations, you’ll notice the hanging resistance straps, the rows of kettlebells, and the signature red, blue, and white FBBC decor. The two days turned out to be a huge success! Dustin helped everyone in attendance level up and prepare to lead their own Fit Body sessions.

of my favorites is, “Are you happy with the way you look and feel in your health?” This gives you permission to ask them what it is they want to change. Create Commitment Then you ask, “On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious are you about achieving your goals?” Most people are going to circle a 6, 7, or 8. No one wants to look totally gung-ho or disinterested. In fact, if they put anything but a 9 or a 10, find out why not. Most of the time, you’ll find they’re skeptical they’ll just quit again, or they don’t know if they can afford the program or if they’ll have time. Conquer Objections With Value Whatever they give you, that’s ammunition to work with. First, let them know you understand. Then, tell them you have a program that’s going to fit their time and budget, to squash those objections. You’re leading the conversation. At the end of the day, you want to make sure, before you even ask for money, that they’ve circled the 10 before you move ahead. Typically the “spouse” and the “think about it” objections are what they call a smokescreen, and what they’re really saying is “I don’t want to afford it.” Look at objections as a way to really sell them, and always remind them of why they started. HOW TO OVERCOME COMMON SALES OBJECTIONS WHY EVERY OBJECTION IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SELL.

Time, money, spouse, and ‘I need to think about it.’ These are the most common objections personal trainers face when selling their programs, and they all have the same root cause: lack of perceived value. Let’s talk about how we overcome all these things before they ever come up. Find Their Emotional Anchors On the backside of the PARQ questionnaire is what I call the Power PARQ, where I ask questions like, “Do you ever feel weak, tired, and sluggish?” “How many meals do you eat each day?” “Do you eat sugary foods?” One
