STRATEGIC PLANNING Whatcom Community College is reimagining learning with the development and implementation of a new strategic plan. This plan builds upon Whatcom’s mission and brings renewed energy and focus to fulfillment of an updated college vision: “Whatcom is a supportive community, empowering lives through education.” A year in development, it was a comprehensive process engaging students, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, community members, industry partners, education partners and donors around opportunities, needs, and challenges in higher education. Our commitment to enhancing a student-centered college experience was a key focus throughout the planning process and is reflected in our new plan. With the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan as our compass we will continue to honor student investments, and ensure all learners have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential and achieve academic success. We look forward to continued engagement with our internal and external communities, and to leveraging past successes into future opportunities together.
