<TMR9> Elimination Matches are a blend of “Best of 1” and “Best of 3”. “Best of 1” means that the winning Alliance in each Match advances to the next round of the Elimination Bracket. “Best of 3” means that the first Alliance to reach two wins will advance. • Qualifying Events & Scrimmages: Played “Best of 1” for all Elimination Matches, including the Finals Match. (Single or Multi-Divisional Events) • Championships and Signature Events : Use “Best of 1” for R16, Quarterfinals, and Semi-Finals Matches, and “Best of 3” for the Finals Matches. a. Multi-Divisional Championships or Signature Events will use “Best of 1” for the individual Division R16, Quarter Finals, and Semi-Finals Matches. b. “Best of 3” will be used for the individual Division Finals and for the overall Finals Matches between the Division winners. <TMR10> Ties in Elimination Matches lead to limited rematches. In the case of tied Matches during Elimination rounds, the tournament application will apply the following logic to determine which Alliance will progress to the next round. a. In a “Best of 1” Elimination round: i. An additional tiebreaker Match will be played. ii. If the tiebreaker Match is tied, then a second tiebreaker Match will be played. iii. If the second tiebreaker Match is tied, then the higher-seeded Alliance will advance and be declared the winner of that round. b. In a “Best of 3” Elimination round: i. Additional Elimination Matches will be added until one Alliance has won (2) Matches.
