Teams may earn points by performing a Color Match during a Skills Match. a. In an Autonomous Skills Match, Teams can earn points by performing a Color Match if the following criteria are met: i. Prior to Landing, the Drone’s LED light must be turned off or lit any color other than Red, Blue, Green, or White. ii. The Drone has Landed on the Multi-color Pad. iii. While the Drone is Landed, the Drone’s LED changes to the color of the Multi-color Pad directly below the Drone Fuselage. 1. The color sensor on the Drone may detect the color a few centimeters away from the surface; therefore, it is permissible for the Drone’s LED to change color right before it lands. 2. The four LED color options include: Red, Blue, Green and White 3. If a Drone’s Fuselage is above more than one color, then any LED color under the Drone’s Fuselage would count. 4. Since this is scored in real-time, Teams must indicate to the Referee when they will be Landing their Drone on the Multi-color Pad. Teams should be aware that the Referee has to validate the Color Match, so it’s recommended that the Drone remain Landed on the Multi- color Pad for a reasonable amount of time to ensure the Referee can verify the Referee Color Match. 5. Referees should give Teams “the benefit of the doubt” in edge cases where it may be difficult to see exactly where the Drone’s Fuselage is located. It’s not necessary to do any “paper tests” or additional measurement to meet this criteria - if it looks close, go ahead and award the Color Match.
