<DR5> Drones and Robots may not include materials that pose a safety risk or may damage the field or floor. These materials and components are prohibited: a. Those that may cause damage to the Field Elements, Scoring Objects, or Floor. b. Those that may cause damage to other Drones and Robots. c. Those that pose an unnecessary risk of entanglement with other Robots, Drones, or Field Elements. d. Those that could pose a potential safety hazard to Mission Crew Members, event staff, or other humans. e. Exposed wires that may pose electrical safety risks. Wires should be attached to the Drone or Robot in an organized and safe manner. f. Any material with sharp edges. g. Any material that is liquid at the time of the Match. Examples include hydraulic fluids, oils, greases, liquid mercury, and tire sealant. h. Solvents or lubricants that may drip or otherwise leave residue on the field. i. Any materials intended to produce flames or pyrotechnic effects. <DR6> Fabricated parts must be made by Team Members. Any custom-fabricated parts used on the Teamwork Drone or the Robot must be designed by Students on the Team. a. Teams utilizing custom fabricated parts should be prepared to demonstrate their design and manufacturing process in their Competition Notebooks by including supporting documentation (ex: Engineering Drawings, manufacturing process descriptions, photos, etc.). b. Teams will be required to provide this documentation as requested by inspectors, Head Referees, Judges, or other Event Staff at any time during an event. Failure to provide acceptable documentation will result in the part being deemed illegal. <DR7> Keep your Drones and Robots together. Drones and Robots may not intentionally detach parts during the Match or leave mechanisms on the Field. Parts which become detached unintentionally are a Minor Violation, are no longer considered part of a Drone or Robot, and should be ignored for the purposes of any rules which involve Drone or Robot contact or location (e.g., scoring) or size.
