execution, and presents the gift. Will you receive it? Did Owen receive it? | Rather ¡Received it with profound grati- I tude, and some months later, when his dead body was picked up on the field of Fredericksburg, they discovered a photo of Lincoln next to his heart on which was written: “ God bless Abraham Lincoln.” Will you receive Christ as a gift? Will you take everlasting life? Nothing to pay! Beyond money and price! More precious than silver or gold. The gift unspeakable! Will you accept it? If so, take Him to your heart and ever own His name, and, as Owen would rejoice to speak of Lincoln, so do you speak of your Saviour. Will you do this and live? Will you refuse it and perish? Oh, think of God’s great love and let that love lure you to Christ. It is a vital moment! Years ago The Hungarian foundered in the Atlantic. All hands perished. Only a clock was washed ashore. The hands stood at 11 o’clock showing the time of disaster. There may be one reading this who will fatally refuse Christ, and it will be known in Heaven that was the hour of your eternal disaster. Oh, may God have mercy on those ready to perish and draw them to eternal life by John 3:16. A SINCERE APOLOGY In our January issue appeared a fine article entitled “ Thinking Through our Fears,” which was a help to many of our readers. But a serious error was made in the by-line, the article being credited to Robert W. Ross, when it should have been to Chester J. Padgett, author of our Young People’s Topics, Associate Professor of Bible at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, and pas tor of Calvary Church, Placentia, Cali fornia. We also overlooked including a note with regard to Mrs. Martha Hooker, in our report on our authors in the Christ mas issue. Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Hooker have been part and parcel of the Bible Institute for over twenty years, and it would be hard to imagine the school without them. He is Associate Professor of Music and she is Associate Professor o f Christian Education. They number hundreds among their “ boys and girls,” many of whom are on the mission field. In addition, Mrs. Hooker has compiled or written the material for the Junior King’s Business for twenty-two years. She has always served efficiently, gra ciously and unobtrusively, her consistent Christian life making as great a con tribution as her stories. We could not secure her picture, but it may be that in the not too distant future we may be able to run a real feature article concerning the Hookers. We are very sorry for these unintentional oversights. —Managing Editor.
