Career Technical Education Pathways Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways allow students to experience real world, hands-on learning through a multiyear sequence of courses and provide students with a pathway to post- secondary education and careers. CTE classes are organized in 10 industry sectors including:

Pleasanton Virtual Academy The Pleasanton Virtual Academy (PVA) is a WASC accredited school that allows students to learn from home, in-person and online,with support provided by the District’s world class educators. This option provides excellent PUSD support for students who seek an alternative to daily, in- person attendance. Middle College High School Middle College High School is an optional education collaboration between the Tri-Valley ROP and Las Positas College, providing a supportive, academically rigorous environment for students seeking a non-traditional collegiate pathway. Middle College High School gives students an opportunity to achieve high school and college academic success, while exploring vocational and career aspirations.

Tri-Valley Regional Occupation Program Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program (ROP) offers career-technical classes to high school juniors and seniors designed to expose students to the 10 CTE industry sectors. Project Lead the Way Project Lead the Way (PLTW) offers pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science where students learn technical skills, problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration. Some PLTW courses are articulated with the Tri-Valley ROP, allowing students to earn dual credit for high school and college courses.
