AT THE CENTER OF INNOVATION IN GEORGIA AND IN THE SOUTHEAST ATDC is situated at the center of the ecosystem in Tech Square in Atlanta on the Georgia Tech campus. With main operations centered in midtown at Tech Square, ATDC operates its ATDC @ programming in 6 other locations across Georgia — Albany, Athens, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, and Savannah. Each of these sites help connect founders to ATDC’s coaching, resources, and networks, creating a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that spans the state. Additionally, ATDC offers programming in Alpharetta, Braselton, and Peachtree Corners. The metro Atlanta region — formally known as the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) — encompasses 29 counties and a population exceeding 6.3 million. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has recorded the third-highest population growth among all U.S. MSAs. This surge, fueled by an influx of highly educated residents, has positioned metro Atlanta as a prime location for entrepreneurs aiming to launch and scale their startups. In fact, many founders of ATDC portfolio companies choose to relocate to Georgia from across the U.S. and across the world specifically to be part of our startup ecosystem in the metro area. Atlanta is a not only a hotbed for startups but is also the densest city in the country for Fortune 500 companies.

ATDC: AN INCUBATOR MODEL UNIQUE TO THE UNITED STATES ATDC’s funding model is uniquely robust and expansive, thanks to the support of the private partnerships we’ve forged with some of the world’s biggest brands — global companies that have a vested interest in fostering innovation within their industries and have chosen ATDC as a strategic ally to do so. ATDC was created in 1980 thanks to the visionary foresight of the Georgia Governor’s Office and state leaders’ determination to make our state a technology hub. ATDC is still funded in part by the state of Georgia, but benefits from significant, multi-year commitments from both 6 Corporate sponsors and 17 Community sponsors. These are some of the world’s largest corporations strategically investing in Georgia’s largest incubator to gain long-term competitive edge.
