SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH/ SMALL BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER Supporting Georgia Startups Through Non-Dilutive Funding Navigating the landscape of non-dilutive funding is a specialized capability offered by only a handful of incubators nationwide. ATDC distinguishes itself by not only alerting Georgia’s innovation ecosystem to new federal agency solicitations but also by providing hands-on support in crafting and refining competitive SBIR/STTR proposals. In 2024, ATDC delivered targeted programming and achieved significant funding success: • Hosted 11 SBIR/STTR classes delivered online, in-person, and in hybrid formats • Conducted introductory federal funding sessions in five cities: Atlanta, Augusta, Albany, Kennesaw, and Peachtree City • ATDC and ATDC-affiliated companies secured $19.2 million in non-dilutive funding through 25 grant awards and contracts These awards came from key federal agencies, including the: • Department of Defense • Department of Health and Human Services – National Institutes of Health • NASA • Department of Transportation • Department of Commerce – National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration • National Science Foundation • Department of Homeland Security • Department of Energy • Department of Agriculture
ATDC connects portfolio members with high-value resources that accelerate business growth—by acting as an extension of personnel in vital areas of the business. Through this support, startups gain access to three essential areas without the need to hire additional staff or spend time and money sourcing expertise on their own. Through Talent Connect , portfolio companies tap into Georgia Tech’s exceptional student and alumni talent pool. Investor Connect and SBIR/STTR Connect guide startups in securing both venture capital and non-dilutive funding.
