Safety Message Road 2 K-Show Favorite Recipes and Best Friends

Dear MAAG Americas Team:

As we are entering the annual budget season, I wanted to give you some feedback on how we have been doing this year so far.

It has been a rocky start to the year, but we have managed to keep with our forecast over the past months. The forecast is still significantly down from our budget for the year, but at least we have not been slipping more. Shipping has been strong in both our locations, and we see improvements in on-time delivery coming from the OPEX initiatives. The integration of Carter Day is helping as we have seen strong bookings in the past few months for our new D-Series large dryers. Also, the acquisition of Sikora has helped our group numbers overall so that – for the first month of the year – we are slightly ahead of plan. Over the next five months, we need your continued engagement to get shipments out of the door. We see a chance to make up some of the gap we have had in the Americas since the beginning of the year and if everything goes well, we should be able to finish this year strong!

Our People Make the Difference! New Sales Tool Developed for Aftermarket Sales Team

MAAG Americas Kent Team led by Chad Ross, Jamie Doolittle, Sid Ramkumar, and Naresh Kalakata took initiative in creating a sales tool in an effort to increase rotor sales and services, educate customers, and as result to produce a higher revenue. The team got together to brainstorm ideas and came up with a document to be used as a sales tool to win customers.

The document is a presentation that is displayed at customers where it is explained about our process of rotor grinding compared to competitors’ process emphasizing the value they receive with MAAG products such as quality, longevity, durability, and best services.

The team has already received positive feedback from the customers and testimonials for helping them to understand MAAG product.

Thank you, Kent Team, for your contribution to the success of MAAG Americas!

Continuous Improvement Standard See Implementation at EGR

The MAAG EGR Shipping Team has been greatly embracing the implementation of the Continuous Improvement Standard See , which involves the use of a Daily Tier Meetings. Every day at 9:10 a.m., the team review their prior day's performance on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity. There have been several improvements already implemented, which have resulted in better Customer Experience through an improved on-time delivery and a 50% month-over- month reduction in future orders’ backlog.

These great results would not be possible without their teamwork spirit; they have been flexing their daily agendas, supporting each other to achieve these great results. Sam Hostetter catered Chipotle for all his team members to show appreciation and recognition for their great efforts. This is an example of our core values in action such as: Collaborative Entrepreneurial Spirit, Winning Through Customers, and Expectations for Results.

MAAG America’s New Dryer Developed to be Displayed at K-Show

This compact dryer, developed by MAAG America's R&D Team is being presented at this year's K-show as a concept in collaboration with the MAAG Germany R&D Team. The goal for this project is to present a competitive alternative compact pelletizing lab system.

The dryer will be positioned on top of the tank of the system. The dryer includes some new features, including a dry channel to access the bottom bearing without needing to remove the dryer from the tank. It also features a larger door opening for easier access to the dryer’s internals. Melanie Peredo , R&D Design Engineer, took the major role in developing this dryer.

Continuous Improvement Material Delivery Standard Implementation at EGR Continuous Improvement is in full action at EGR, and the neatly-looking new carts in the picture below – are the best evidence. These newest prototype of a cart for moving housings on smaller projects. Cameron Kern, Sourav Dey , and Riley Coleman worked on building this over the recent weeks. This project is a part of the flow transformation from Push to Pull, which falls under the Continuous Improvement standard - Internal Material Delivery and is aimed at improving space utilization, reducing storage space from 8ft X 6ft skids to 4ft X 2.5ft. carts , and reducing process waste. The team will continue working on refining the cart with the goal to eventually build a functional fleet of these carts.

Hobbies From 215 Pounds to 20+ Marathons: My Transformation Journey into Running Thirteen years ago, I laced up my sneakers for the first time—not out of love for the sport, but out of desperation to take control of my health. I was 215 pounds, smoking a pack of cigarettes every other day, and grappled with the pressure of a new Supply Chain Manager role I didn’t feel prepared for. Stress was swallowing me whole.

A local 5K popped up on social media. It felt like just the push I needed, so I signed up. I roped in a few coworkers to train with me, and that shared struggle turned into something surprisingly joyful. But my first race? A masterclass in rookie mistakes. I sprinted through the first 3K, crashed hard through the last 2K, and collapsed just 100 feet from the finish line. I woke up in an ambulance. Not exactly the triumphant ending I had imagined. But running didn’t let me go—and I didn’t let go of it either. Over time, it transformed from a health initiative into a personal anchor. I’ve since run 20+ marathons across different cities, each one shaping the person I’ve become. Training with my kids - my two little monsters back then - provided some of my favorite memories. Running became therapy, reflection, solitude, a tool to recalibrate whenever life got noisy.

I even tried barefoot running after reading Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. It sounded crazy, so natural, I had to try it. Ten kilometers later, I was hooked. The Boston Marathon still sits high on my dream list. I set my personal best in Vegas - 3:14:02 - which technically qualifies me for my age group. But with Boston's rising standards, it is not guaranteed. Still, I train. Boston is not just a race – it is a symbol of what’s possible.

Running is not always glamorous. Sometimes those long two-hour runs feel endless, but podcasts and audiobooks turn the miles into meaningful moments. Treadmills? I tolerate them - with the help of a good TV series on my iPad. From collapsing at my first 5K to chasing the elusive Boston finish line, running has been a wild ride. Boston’s still on the bucket list, and until then, you’ll find me pounding pavement, dodging treadmills whenever I can, and squeezing wisdom out of every podcast mile. – Sergio Nunez Director, Operational Excellence
