The length of a base of a trapezoid with a midsegment is determined in this example. The lengths of one base and the midsegment are given. Use the formula for the length of the midsegment of a trapezoid to solve for the length of the unknown base. Substitute the given values for the length of the base and the length of the midsegment and solve for the length of the other base. The solution yields a length of 26 units.
