It’s in these moments that our guides will share the remarkable story of Wilson Masiya, one of only eight Master Trackers worldwide and a treasured member of the extended Royal Portfolio family. around the fire at Royal Malewane after an Born in Mozambique, Wilson lived on the boundary of the Kruger National Park. Like many others, he fled his home in 1977 when the Mozambican civil war broke out. He guided his family on an incredible journey through the Kruger National Park into South Africa, travelling approximately 130 kilometres on foot. He ensured their safe passage to Welverdiend, an area between Royal Malewane and the Orpen Gate, where the Masiya family continues to live today.
