Dear Brothers of the Southeastern Province, What a time we had in the Central Savannah River Area! The 99th Southeastern Province Council was nothing short of extraordinary, and I want to take a moment to reflect on the spirit, service, and brotherhood we shared during that memorable weekend. First and foremost, I extend my deepest appreciation to our outstanding host chapters of the CSRA: Augusta (GA), Grovetown–Evans–Martinez (G.E.M.), Aiken (SC), Pi Xi – Augusta State University, and Nu Nu – University of South Carolina Aiken. Your collective effort, hospitality, and execution created an unforgettable experience for all in attendance. Your commitment to excellence was evident in every detail of the Province Council. Congratulations are also in order for all of our award winners and scholarship participants — you embody the standard of achievement our beloved fraternity upholds. Your accomplishments serve as a beacon for others and a reminder of the great impact Kappa Men continue to have throughout our communities and campuses. I would also like to express sincere gratitude to Grand Polemarch Brother Jimmy McMikle for his leadership and vision, and for honoring me with the continued privilege to serve as your Southeastern Province Polemarch. I am humbled by the reappointment and remain committed to advancing the ideals and initiatives of our Province and our Fraternity. A special thank you goes to our Grand Historian, Brother Kevin Scott , who delivered a powerful and inspiring message during our closed banquet. His words reminded us of the importance of honoring our past as we build toward the future. To our Province Board members, committee chairs, and dedicated administrative staff—thank you for the behind-the-scenes work that ensured the smooth and successful execution of the Council. Your tireless efforts did not go unnoticed. As we now shift our focus to the 87 th Grand Chapter Meeting in July , let us move with intention and unity. I ask that we turn our eyes to Greenville, South Carolina , where we will celebrate a historic milestone— the Centennial of the Southeastern Province . This momentous occasion will be a time of reflection, pride, and recommitment to our purpose as Kappa Men. Let us continue to serve with excellence, lead with integrity, and uphold the legacy of our Province. Yours in the Bond,

Brian C. Mock Southeastern Province Polemarch Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

99th Southeastern Province Council Thursday, March 27th - Sunday, March 30th Augusta, Georgia Written by : Brother Tyran L. White, SE Province Reporter

The brothers of the Southeastern Province convened in beautiful Augusta, Georgia, to handle the annual business of our great fraternity. For the 99th Southeastern Province Council, the five chapters in the Central Savannah River Area worked together to bring an unforgettable province council experience to brothers of the Southeastern Province, their Silhouettes, and visiting guests. The CSRA consists of the Augusta (GA) Alumni, Aiken (SC) Alumni, Grovetown-Evans- Martinez (GA) Alumni Chapters along with the undergraduate brothers from the Augusta State University Chapter, the Pi Xi, and the University of South Carolina - Aiken Chapter, the Nu Nu. All the registered delegates and brothers were greeted with smiling faces and warm hospitality as we gathered to meet on the scenic Savannah River. The 99th Southeastern Province Council

officially opened with our Public Meeting held at the Augusta Convention Center. The event was well attended by brothers, their Silhouettes, members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and community members. Brother Willie Frazier of the Augusta (GA) Alumni Chapter served as the Master of Ceremonies. Those in attendance were greeted by the Honorable Garnett L. Johnson, mayor of the City of Augusta; Octavious Murray, president of the Aiken Chapter of the NPHC; and Janice Coats-Hardy, the Southeastern Province Silhouettes Coordinator. Brother Hawthrone Welcher provided the musical entertainment for the event. As part of the Public Meeting, the host chapters presented service awards to deserving members of their communities. Each chapter of the CSRA presented these awards to individuals selected by their members. The awardees were:

- Lessie B. Price by the Aiken (SC) Alumni Chapter - Brother Brian L. Price by the Augusta (GA) Alumni Chapter - Brother Ryan Bennett by the Grovetown-Evans-Martinez (GA) Alumni Chapter Province Polemarch Brian C. business session, the brothers were presented with reports from the various committee chairmen in the province. Two awards were presented during this session: the Reclamation Awards by Brother Deaderick Jones and the Website of the Year Awards by Brother Tyran White for Brother Fred Merritt. That evening, contestants from across the province impressed the crowd at the Miss SPE Pageant. From active wear to business wear to talent, the three contestants shined brightly that evening. Miss Jada Peyton, representing the Gamma Chi Chapter, was crowned Miss Southeastern Province 2025-2026. The host alumni chapters provided the brothers and attendees with a Casino Night experience filled with food, music, and fellowship. Saturday brought another day of business sessions and meetings. The morning began with a Memorial Service led by Brother Dr. Vardy Freeman, Province Polemarch. During the service, brothers commemorated the memories of those who joined Chapter Invisible during the year. The brothers also celebrated the return of Brother Freeman after taking time to focus on his recovery. Another highlight of the day was the arrival of Grand Polemarch Jimmy McMikle during Saturday’s events. He took time to address the

brothers in attendance and fellowship with various individuals throughout the day. After completing more business for the province, undergraduate and alumni brothers gathered for the Undergraduate Luncheon to share lunch and celebrate the undergraduate members of the province. Brother Victor “VJ” Mattison, then Junior Province Vice Polemarch, served as the speaker for the event and delivered an inspiring message to both the undergraduate and alumni brothers. Several undergraduate brothers were honored with awards for their academic and service achievements throughout the school year on their respective campuses and communities. Brother Dr. Christopher Johnson presented awards and scholarships as chair of the Province Achievement Academy and Brother Christopher Smith presented awards as chair of the Awards and Achievement Committee. Following the group photo, brothers gathered to support the Province Guide Right’s Student of the Year Contest. This event not only showcased the talents of Kappa Leaguers from across the province, but it also recognized the achievements of Guide Right programs and their sponsors. That evening, during the Closed Banquet, the brothers gathered to commune over the final meal of the

province council. The last, but the least, awards were recognized and presented by the Province Awards and Achievements Chairman, Brother Christopher Smith during the event. The J. Michael Graves Alumni Chapters of the Year were presented to the small, medium, and large chapter winners. The James B. Hardy Undergraduate Chapters of the Year Awards were presented to the small and medium chapter winners. Two brothers were also recognized as Advisors of the Year during the event. The highlight of the Closed Banquet was the riveting message by Grand Historian Kevin P. Scott. Before the conclusion of the event, the election results were announced and the 2025- 2026 Southeastern Province Officers were sworn in. After the Closed Banquet, the host chapters sponsored an event to bring the 99th Southeastern Province Council to a close for the majority of the delegates and brothers. On Sunday, most of the brothers and their Silhouettes took to the airways, highways, and byways to return to their homes or next destinations. A handful of brothers joined the newly elected officers in their first Province Board Meeting. At the end of the meeting, this year’s Province Council was officially brought to a conclusion. We are now on the “Road to 100!”

CARROLLTON-DOUGLASVILLE (GA) ALUMNI CHAPTER Advancing Service, Civic Engagement, and Brotherhood The Carrollton-Douglasville Alumni Chapter (CDAC) continues to thrive through meaningful service, civic action, and partnerships that uplift the community. With a long- standing relationship with St. James AME Church, CDAC has built a tradition of collaboration that strengthens its impact across Douglas and Carroll counties. One of the chapter’s cornerstone initiatives is the monthly CDAC Food Drive, which supports hundreds of food-insecure families. By consistently providing meals and resources, the chapter demonstrates its unwavering commitment to meeting the essential needs of the community. This work was amplified during the Thanksgiving holiday, when CDAC partnered with St. James AME and Circles of West Georgia to distribute turkey baskets, ensuring families across the region could gather and celebrate with dignity. During Kappa Christmas 2024, CDAC spread holiday cheer to students at Annette Winn Elementary and Stewart Middle School, providing gifts to children who might otherwise go without. The chapter also continued its commitment to environmental stewardship through the Adopt-a-Road initiative on December 7, cleaning along Concourse Parkway in Douglasville. CDAC remains a champion of civic engagement. The Civic Action Committee and Political Action Committee worked together to host voter registration drives at Douglas County high schools, helping students register as first-time voters. The chapter also upheld its tradition of honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by partnering with local NPHC organizations for a community fair that connected families with valuable resources while celebrating Dr. King’s vision of service and unity. As part of this celebration, Vice-Polemarch Brother Dr. Donrich Young, a senior special agent for the FDIC, led

In partnership with the sisters of Sigma Gamma Rho, the Social Action and Kappa League Committees participated in a Youth Symposium, where CDAC facilitated an engaging discussion on the significance of proper attire — with special focus on the components of a tuxedo. Through holiday outreach, civic action, youth mentorship, and continuous service, the Carrollton-Douglasville Alumni Chapter embodies the spirit of achievement in every field of human endeavor. From feeding families to educating future leaders, CDAC remains steadfast in its mission to serve, inspire, and strengthen the community.
