Brother Bryon Daily, the event drew strong participation from both brothers and the community, surpassing its goal of 25 pints — achieving an outstanding total of 30 pints donated. Brother Bryon Daily’s dedication and coordination helped ensure the day’s success, which underscored not only the chapter’s commitment to service but also the vital importance of blood donation in saving lives, particularly within the Black community. The chapter extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, proving once again why We Are Decatur. Fred Merritt – Recipient of the Ronald R. Young Award We celebrate Brother Fred Merritt, honored on the front page of the Southwestern Province website as the recipient of the Robert R. Young Award! This recognition for excellence in province website achievement is yet another testament to his dedication and to the exemplary reputation of the Decatur (GA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. Truly, he embodies Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor. Leading the Charge for a Cleaner Tomorrow The Decatur (GA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated was recognized as the organization with the highest impact in the “March Into a Cleaner Tomorrow” initiative, a community-wide initiative to boost recycling, clean-up efforts, and environmental awareness in our community. This work was led by Brother Warren Green, our Chairman of Social Action, whose dedication guided our efforts from start to finish. Through teamwork and dedication, we demonstrated what happens when brotherhood takes action for the greater good of the community. Oldest Brother in the Decatur (GA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Incorporated Celebrates His Birthday On June 27th, our chapter’s oldest member, Brother Israel Beard, celebrated his 93rd birthday — a remarkable milestone in a life of service to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. Brother Beard has devoted an incredible 70 years to the Bond, embodying the very best of our fraternity’s ideals and inspiring generations of brothers to follow his example. At our most recent Fraternity Meeting, we honored him with a special medallion in recognition of his seven decades of service, joined by our Province Polemarch, Brother Brian Mock. Today, as Brother Beard spends this special time with his family, we salute his legacy and wish him the happiest of birthdays!
44 Years of Achievement On April 4th, the chapter proudly celebrated 44 years of achievement, service, and brotherhood in the Decatur Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Since our chartering on April 4, 1981, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to the principles of Achievement in every field of human endeavor, uplifting our community, and strengthening the unbreakable bond of Kappa. From the 15 Men of Crimson and Cream who dared to follow a dream, to the visionary Brothers who paved the way, and to those who now carry the torch forward—we raise a cup of joy and gratitude to every member, past and present, who has contributed to this legacy. This milestone is a testament to unwavering dedication— to our Fraternity, to service, and to the communities we proudly serve. Through mentorship, scholarship, and brotherhood, we continue to make an impact that echoes far beyond our years. Here’s to 44 years of legacy. And to many more.
