service in the field of education. A Spring ’83 initiate of The Gamma Epsilon Chapter at Tuskegee University, Brother Jackson has consistently exemplified our fundamental purpose of Achievement in every field of human endeavor. Reflecting on the most rewarding aspects of his career, Brother Jackson shared, “It’s so rewarding when you can see the light in the kids’ eyes when they are learning what you are teaching. There is also great success in seeing the scores of the kids after the lessons are taught.” He also credited his daily motivation to the fulfillment he received in the classroom, stating that working closely with students brought him a sense of instant gratification. Drawing a powerful parallel between his educational journey and professional path, Brother Jackson highlighted the importance of support systems. He likened the encouragement he received as a student at Tuskegee University—an HBCU—to the nurturing environment he worked to create for his own students throughout his career. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Brother Kim Jackson on his well-earned accolades and wish him a fulfilling retirement.
of impactful roles, including Director of Employee Experience at Chime Solutions, Field Service Manager and Flight Attendant for Delta Air Lines, and a Student Affairs professional at North Carolina A&T State University. He also taught 9th grade English in Gwinnett County, where he inspired students in their educational journey. A Fall 2019 initiate of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. through the Atmore (AL) Alumni Chapter, McInnis holds a B.S. in Liberal Studies, a B.A. in English, and an M.S. in Adult Education—all from North Carolina A&T—where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies. McInnis says his decision to join the 100 Black Men was driven by a commitment to closing achievement gaps and supporting youth leadership development. In DeKalb County, where only 46% of third graders read at grade level and graduation rates lag behind the state average, McInnis hopes to be part of the solution. “To whom much is given, much is required,” he said, “I understand that the gifts God has given me are not for my benefit alone, but for the world. Having been under the tutelage of distinguished Kappa men like Dr. Ulysses McBride, Dr. Willie Grissett, and the Honorable Henry Frye, I am honored to give back and share what others showed me. Kappa has shaped me in profound ways, and being able to plant the seed of Kappa in young men, with the hope that they may one day join our noble fraternity, is both humbling and fulfilling.”
