Travise PITMAN West assistant coach just completed his 11th season as the head football coach at Mitchell High where he has compiled a career record of 114-26 and his teams have won 5 conference titles and made 11 state playoff appearances, twice finishing as state championship runners- up … also serves as the schools Athletics Director and previously served as the head coach of the women’s basketball team and as the head coach of the men’s JV basketball team … served on the NC Football Coaches Association from 2018-2023 … born in Spruce Pine, NC … 1995 graduate of Mitchell High where he competed in football, basketball, and track … 2000 graduate of Western Carolina University … “I’m just glad to be a part of this great event and hopefully make new connections throughout the process.”
West assistant coach just finished his 18th season as the head football coach at as Surry Central High where he has compiled a career record of 74-120...his teams have won 1 conference title and made 7 state playoff appearances … twice named Conference Coach of the Year … previously served as the women’s track coach at Mount Airy High and as an assistant football coach, assistant baseball coach, and assistant men’s and women’s basketball coach at Surry Central High … born in Mount Airy, NC … 1992 graduate of Surry Central High where he played football, baseball, and was named All- Conference in basketball … 1996 graduate of Appalachian State University … “Representing my family, school, and community in this game is an honor. The East- West All-Star games have long been held, and being a small part of that longstanding tradition is humbling. I want to thank my wife for a career’s worth of support, and my daughters for each being supportive and serving as student trainers during part of their busy high school careers.
