Experiencing Each Other Firsthand THROUGH OUR OWN EYES
We usually imagine our friends and families introducing us to new people and potential partners, but Trey and I met all on our own! We didn’t have mutual friends giving us advice or sharing information about the other’s past. We got to know each other through our own eyes with no filters.
Trey is so focused on making every client feel like they’re his only client in the world, and I think that is so important to people and shows how genuine he truly is. I always see him thinking about improving, giving his clients more attention, making them feel seen and heard, and not leaving anyone behind. He's always trying to give a little bit of himself to everybody. That’s hard to manage, but he is dedicated to it.
When you get to know someone you know nothing about, you experience it all firsthand, and that made our relationship so special. We were at an age when we knew exactly what we wanted, and we wanted the same things! We all know marriage can be very hard, but when you find someone with the same values and goals as you, why stall it any longer? So, we got married! Eventually, after living with each other 24/7, I began to see the little things — like the way he talks or his expressions — and I’m still learning new things about him every day. I visited Trey before the pandemic to plan our wedding and get things ready, but when the world shut down, we decided to go ahead and get married so we could live our lives together. Even during quarantine, I was never concerned or scared — even though it was something serious and scary — because Trey made me feel so protected and supported.
It’s just a reflection of who he is and shines through every aspect of his life with the clients, his relatives, me, and our daughter, Isabella. This is especially true with Isabella more than ever since she interacts with him more! Before she was even born, Trey was practicing putting diapers on a stuffed animal, and now she waits for him to get home so that they have a snack together. I love seeing how he is with her, and I can’t wait to see how he will be with our new daughter, Rebecca. As new parents, there are times when we can feel so lost, and it’s incredible to have someone who wants to learn, is involved, and is always by your side. Work can sometimes be difficult, but he always comes home and gives all his attention and energy to us, which is so meaningful to me.
Sometimes I can’t believe that I ever found someone like him or deserved it, but I think God brought us together for a reason. We continue to grow and learn with one another, all while building a life for ourselves. I’m so proud of how far Trey has come as a man, lawyer, and father — he is truly my best friend, and I’m so thankful to have him.
I had also become pregnant during that time, and I really saw Trey stepping up. It was an already stressful time, but he wasn’t letting me worry about a single thing. It also reflects a lot on his work. He always wants to give his clients the most optimal treatment as well as the best possible outcome for their cases.

TO CHASE AWAY THE BLUES 5 FEEL-GOOD MOVIES
Some of you may like to take your furry friends everywhere. You may see dogs hanging their heads out the window or watch them as they go from one window to another. While some of us may want to travel with our pets unrestrained, traveling under these conditions can put yourself, your pet, and others at risk. More than 10,000 accidents each year are due to unrestrained dogs. The leading cause of these accidents is because drivers are distracted by their animals. To ensure everyone’s safety, here are three tips when driving with your pets. Keep pets in the back seat. If your animal is in the front passenger seat, it can become a distraction because it’s PROTECT YOUR FURRY FRIENDS WHILE DRIVING 3 Tips When Traveling With Pets Are you stuck in a TV rut and starting to feel down in the dumps? (Thanks, seasonal depression.) If so, check out one of these heartwarming movies for a pick-me-up. 1. ‘Rescued by Ruby’ — If your family loves dogs, this kid-friendly flick will be a real crowd-pleaser. It stars a pup named Ruby, who starts life as a shelter dog. After a state trooper rescues her, she becomes a search- and-rescue worker who finds and saves people. A true story inspired the uplifting tale, and according to some reviews, you may want to have tissues ready. 2. ‘Yes Day’ — Imagine spending an entire day saying “yes” to everything your kids requested. Congratulations: You’ve stepped into the plot of “Yes Day”! In this film, parents Alison and Carlos go along with
closer to you. That’s why it’s best to keep your pets in the back seat. You can purchase a pet net that will block off the front of your car so your pet can’t distract you or climb in the front passenger seat. Use crates, harnesses, pet seat belts, and pet car seats when possible. Your pet is in more danger if they aren’t restrained in the car, so put them in a crate, harness, or pet car seat or seat belt to ensure they are protected. These items their kids’ wildest desires and watch family bonding magic unfold. The Raising Children Network recommends this movie for adults and older kids only. 3. ‘Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness’ — The plot of this animated movie is as creative as its title! It follows a cartoon hero named Chickenhare, who is 50% rabbit, 50% bird, and 100% confused about his place in the world. He’s also on a quest with friends to defeat his evil uncle before it's too late. Think of the film as a funny, adventurous, family-friendly take on the classic tale “The Ugly Duckling.” 4. ‘Dumplin’’ — Mashable called “Dumplin’” “the definition of sweet.” The movie stars Rosie (played by Jennifer Aniston) as a pageant-obsessed former beauty queen whose daughter, Willowdean, doesn’t fit conventional beauty standards. When Willowdean enters her mom’s pageant in a
will ensure your pet isn’t sliding around in your backseat and is protected in case of an accident. Feed your pets 2 hours before traveling. Like humans, your animals can become carsick or have to use the bathroom during car rides. But unlike humans, pets can’t vocalize this need. If your pet gets ill or has an accident in your car, it can cause you to become distracted. Therefore, feed your furry friend a few hours before traveling to ensure their stomach has settled and give them time to use the bathroom. If you’re traveling long distances, stop every hour or so to give your pet a break. We consider our animals family members, so it’s time to treat them like one. We don’t let our children ride in the car unrestrained, so we shouldn’t let our pets do the same. By keeping your pets restrained, you’re protecting them, yourself, and others. Your friends at the Law Offices of William F. Underwood wish you and your family (two-legged and four-legged) safe travels to wherever you are going this month and in the future. protest complete with dancing and Dolly Parton tunes, she sparks a small-town revolution. This movie is recommended for children ages 13 and up. 5. ‘We Can Be Heroes’ — Since its release in 2020, this superhero movie has quickly become a family favorite. The story opens with an aliens-versus-superheroes showdown, and when the aliens win and take the heroes hostage, their kids come to the rescue. As the title implies, the film will leave you feeling like you can be a hero, too.

HOW DO SCARS IMPACT PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS?
4 FACTORS CAR INSURANCE COMPANIES CONSIDER
Suffering injuries from a car accident can leave a lasting impact on your life — especially if you have a scar. When you file a personal injury claim, your scar can play a vital role in your compensation. Here are four factors insurance companies consider when determining the value of a scar in a personal injury claim. Location If you have a scar in an area that’s mainly visible for others to see, such as your face, the value of your claim will increase. If the scar is located in a typically hidden area, the claim may decrease. Size The scar’s size is as important as the location. The bigger the scar, the larger your settlement could be. However, the shape of your scar is also taken into account. If the shape of your scar is bumpy and rigid, it’s less likely to heal and fade fully than smooth scars. Permanency/Quality of Life Even though some scars, depending on the size and shape, can fade away and heal, you can still experience lasting effects. Some lacerations that create scarring can affect the quality of your life, which is considered when determining compensation. Even if your scar fades away, you can still experience pain and other issues, like disability. It’s best to visit a doctor who can conduct MRIs, X-rays, and other tests to see if you will have any lasting effects or disabilities. If you have documentation from your doctor, the value of your settlement can increase.
We Value You! At the Law Offices of William F. Underwood, III, P.C., the trust we build with our clients is our most valuable asset. To show our appreciation, we would like to thank our clients who have referred others to us since our December newsletter: If you or someone you know has been in a car accident and received life-changing injuries, allow the Law Offices of William F. Underwood to help you. We can speak to car insurance companies on your behalf, provide you with strategies to support your claim, and ensure you get the settlement you deserve. Your Age and Occupation Settlements for personal injury claims involving scars are much higher for younger people than older adults. This is because younger people will live longer with their injuries and experience more effects. Insurance companies will also look at what job you have as well. If you’re working for a company that is customer/client-facing, you could get a higher settlement than lower-visibility jobs.

REACH YOUR FINANCIAL GOALS AN APPROACH TO LONG-TERM INVESTING
Don’t let bias lead you to bad decisions. One of the significant risks when investing is when investors allow bias to lead to wrong investment decisions. The news, economic forecasts, and others’ views can alter a decision. It seems as though investors become attached to information that tends to have little to do with the long-term value of their investments. That is why it is essential to prioritize your research over impulses. Focus on the facts. It can be easy to follow what the majority are doing. Still, you must rely on something other than the herd mentality to buy or sell your holdings. If you’re looking to invest long term, you must analyze your preferred stocks. This will help you make informed investment decisions rather than selling or buying based on what everyone else is doing. With Graham’s long-term investment strategies and understanding the basic do’s and don’ts of investing, you’ll be better positioned to become an intelligent investor yourself!
Benjamin Graham first published “The Intelligent Investor” in 1949, and the book has been acknowledged globally as the most significant investment guide of the 20th century. It has taught and inspired people worldwide, including Warren Buffett, who described it as one of the best books ever written on investing! According to Graham, those willing to devote energy and cultivate a specific mindset have the opportunity to generate profitable long- term investments. He was able to gain wealth by precisely evaluating companies in the stock market without taking any significant risks.
Some important questions to ask are: • Is it worth the market price it trades at today? • Is it overvalued? • Does it have potential growth in the future? This can help you better understand how your investment could appreciate or depreciate over time. Just as Graham did, precisely evaluating versus guessing could make you a more successful investor.
Here are three lessons from “The Intelligent Investor” that can help you invest successfully!
Understand the value behind the business. Whatever stock you are looking to invest in, it is essential to know that it isn’t simply an asset. There is a real business behind it, and if you’re looking to invest long term, you must understand how much value the company has.
