Welcome to the second Miller Cattle Company Forward Focus production sale!
Located in the heart of central Missouri, we work each day to build better seedstock that will improve our herd and yours. Raising quality cattle is a true passion, and we always joke that we worked jobs off the farm to support our cow habit. We are proud to offer SimAngus bulls and embryo heifer pregnancies that will move your program forward. Don’t let the size of the sale scare you away. Around here, quality trumps quantity every day of the week, and we believe you’ll be impressed by the lineup. Our sale is internet based and somewhat unique in design, but we’re just a phone call, text, or email away if you need assistance. We still consider ourselves rookies in this sale space, but we’re veterans of 35-plus years in SimAngus production. These cattle are built on years of stacking proven, functional SimAngus genetics that thrive in our fescue environment. We breed for cattle that bring a calf every year, with EPD packages that combine calving ease and growth with the all-purpose traits that fit any program. Cows are matched to bulls that accentuate their best qualities and improve any deficiencies. Docility is a key part of our program, and you’ll appreciate the attitude of these cattle. Our focus has always been on performance. We measure, evaluate, and improve the traits that matter to commercial cattle herds—the backbone of the beef industry. At the same time, we believe our peak genetics appeal to even the most discriminating seedstock producers. At Miller Cattle Company, we breed bulls that are ready to go to work for you. This sale is designed in a straightforward, value-based format with a “buy now” option that allows you to own an animal immediately, with no further bidding. The bulls we offer are “age advantage,” being 18 to 20 months old at sale time. They’re developed in large pastures, receiving a commodity-based mix ration twice daily, along with wet and dry hay as needed. These bulls are built for longevity and ready to go to work. It’s tough to let the four heifer embryo pregnancies leave the ranch, no doubt. Two of the embryos are daughters of a Hook’s Eagle cow we raised here. She’s the kind of female we strive to make and is also the dam of the Lot 1 bull from our spring sale, now doing a terrific job in Alabama. We love the bulls and heifers this cow produces. The other two embryos are daughters of a female we purchased from the Advanced Beef Genetics dispersal in Iowa two years ago. She’s also a Hook’s Eagle daughter and has been a great addition to our herd. This flush to WBF Patton will produce calves on the cutting edge of the SimAngus breed. The four recipient cows carrying these embryos were productive in our herd and will do a good job for you, no matter how you choose to use them. Help yourself to these genetics—we promise you won’t be sorry when these heifers hit the ground. Miller Cattle Company has always been a true family operation. Abby and Ethan have helped work cows, weigh calves, and tag newborns for years. Now young adults, Abby is in her first year teaching high school, and Ethan is a student at the University of Missouri. Both remain actively involved in the farm. If you have any questions about the sale animals or want to stop by for a closer look, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to show you the sale bulls or recip cows anytime leading up to the sale.

Most of our family trips have revolved around livestock, but this summer we swapped the trailer for a few days in Washington D.C. Touring the White House was a highlight for all of us!
