11.6 Detailed description of BST Working at Height & Manual Handling Module

The aim of this lesson is to give the participants the needed awareness of the course content and the facilities in order to ensure that all participants are aware of what to expect and what is expected of them during the course.

To successfully complete this BST Working at Height with Manual Handling Module, participants shall be aware of:

Safety instructions and emergency procedures

Facilities

Who the instructor and other participants are

Aims and primary learning objectives

On-going assessment according to GWO Control Measures

Motivation for this BST course

ELEMENT 1.1 - SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

The instructor shall:

Explain the safety instructions according to internal procedures

Explain the emergency procedures and emergency exits in the areas where the participants can be expected to be located during the course

ELEMENT 1.2 - FACILITIES

The instructor shall:

Describe the location of the on-site facilities (administration, dining area, restrooms, toilets, etc.)

ELEMENT 1.3 - INTRODUCTION

The instructor shall:

Give a short introduction, including their backgrounds as instructors
