Practice and demonstrate the ability to safely and correctly use fall arrest lanyards, double hook climbing included

The aim of this lesson is to enable the participants to reduce the risk of muscular and spinal injuries through awareness of the risks and by using exercise to train the back and shoulder muscles.
To successfully complete this BST Module, participants shall be able to:
Explain common muscular and skeletal injuries (L2 – Knowledge)
Explain spinal anatomy, including slipped disc and the importance of neutral posture (L2 – Knowledge)
Explain shoulder anatomy, including common injuries (L2 – Knowledge)
Explain typical symptoms of muscular and skeletal injury and the importance of early detection and treatment (L2 – Knowledge)
Explain typical injury reporting methods (L2 – Knowledge)
Demonstrate the ability to use practical exercises for training the back and shoulders (L3 – Skills)
ELEMENT 11.1 - ANATOMY
The instructor shall:
Lead a discussion about muscular and skeletal injuries related to Manual Handling, including:
a. Back injuries, e.g. slipped disc
b. Muscle strains
Explain the relationship between injury and spinal anatomy and posture
