VXT - Training a hospitality and tourism workforce to deliver the Tasmanian Experience
here in Tasmania and while living abroad and brings experience in stakeholder relationships and business development from roles held at the University of Tasmania. One of our own, as a proud Tasmanian she was able to share her enthusiasm for our State with others while working with the team at Business Events Tasmania in the North. 1. What are your main responsibilities as Industry & Growth Manager at VXT? We are all proud of what has been achieved in a short period of operations for VXT, and with the newly appointed team, our focus is on our growth and longevity into the future. I’m excited to take on the responsibilities of working to build an awareness of how we can support industry, tourism and hospitality businesses and others invested in collaboratively building on and developing our workforce. In the coming months with our team, we can reflect on learnings to date, extract data, consolidate feedback from stakeholders, course participants, and business operators, and secure collaborations for our future planning. We have not only gained resources, but also diversity in skill sets. It’s important to me to ensure we remain contemporary, engaged with industry forecasts, and responsive to businesses’ and individuals’ needs, to continue growing our future workforce in tourism and hospitality across all regions of Tasmania.

Visitor Experience Training (VXT) works hand in hand with the hospitality and tourism industry in Tasmania to offer a range of practical courses designed to equip participants with the required knowledge and skills for their chosen career, with a core focus on how to deliver a truly unique Tasmanian experience in their field. The organisation knows how important skilled people are to hospitality and tourism success, and how their warmth, passion and creativity shape our Tasmanian experience. VXT want to create a pipeline of skilled, talented, industry-ready people for this significant sector in our State. In conjunction with industry, VXT is currently delivering training programs across several priority areas, while continuing to collaborate on designing tailored courses to meet workforce demand & upskilling. Courses are offered state-wide as purpose-designed modules taking into consideration employer and participant needs.
