Education Essential: • Degree qualified in engineering, energy, other relevant degree or formal training plus experience in a similar or related role(s) Desirable: • Holds second degree or Masters in above subjects and areas Experience Essential: • Experience in a similar role working to improve the energy performance of an organisation through the application of engineering skills and principles • Knowledge and understanding of building service and design • Experience of large complex databases and how to interpret and translate into understandable information for reports and presentations. Desirable: • Track record of implementing measures to reduce energy use across a complex estate • Experience managing technically complex projects • Track record of writing business cases and securing funding for projects Knowledge Essential: • Detailed operational knowledge and expertise in the field of energy management, building services and design • High level of understanding of engineering and technical principles related to energy efficiency in buildings Desirable: • Detailed knowledge and understanding of databases and how to manipulate and represent data in an informative manner • Knowledge of utility specific industry processes related to management of electricity, gas and water connections

Skills & Abilities Essential: • Ability to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively • Excellent team skills, with the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships (internally and externally) at all levels • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with many different stakeholders • Ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and present them in a clear and concise format • Proactive, innovative able to apply specialist technical knowledge to anticipate and find solutions to problems • Numerate and able to report on a budget to senior managers • An understanding of the need for excellent customer service and an ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with key staff and external contacts • Ability to complete work in area of responsibility within deadlines and to agreed standards with proven ability to plan and organise own and team activity ensuring plans complement and feed into broader operational plans • Ability to apply appropriate expertise, judgement and decision making to deliver professional services to meet the customer requirements • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate, influence, persuade and build relationships • Excellent time management skills, the ability to plan, prioritise and juggle competing tasks to meet deadlines under pressure Desirable: • Confident user of computer software packages at intermediate level, including Microsoft Office products, together with energy database management, TEAM Sigma and an understating of BEMS (TREND)
