PATHWAY TO PLANETREE
REFER Looking back at our accomplishments in 2022, we see much to be grateful for. As our journey with Planetree continues, we understand the importance of caring for patients, caring for staff, and caring for our community. We also embrace the philosophy that there is “nothing about me, without me,” which places the voices of our staff and patients at the center of just about everything we do. Doing this improves the experience of person-centered care and the services we provide to our patients and community. Thanks to our partnership with Planetree, we took a close look at our environment of care at Jacobi through our Caring Culture Survey results guided by Planetree’s team. We were happy to report that despite the starts and stops experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic. We see that our desire to embrace a culture of caring remains strong. How is this so? Let’s take a look. The survey looked at personal, coworker, and leader caring and was separated into two groups -direct and indirect caregivers represented by clinical and non-clinical staff. While looking into results from both 2021 and 2022, we noticed a change in how the team feels cared for by our colleagues, leaders, and others. The results showed improvement in 23 out of 24 questions, with 9 out of 10 showing statistical significance over our 2021 benchmark*. Our overall mean score in 2022 also showed statistical significance for our Indirect Caregivers*. Significant signs of strength were seen all around!
Tracking quality improvement measures such as this are great ways to align with what matters to our staff and help us build on programs that create a positive workplace culture.
