the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I might come and worship him also” (Matt. 2:8). Herod had no intention of wor shipping the Child. There was nothing but murder and hatred in his heart. Herod was the man who missed Christmas. Howmany like Herod there are in the world today! The Wise Men found Him. They fell down and worshipped Him. They gave Him their gifts. “And . . . then they departed into their own country another ivay . . .” (Matt. 2:12). Have you ever really thought about that? What made the Wise Men go home another way? Oh yes, they’d been warned in a dream that they should not de part by way o f Herod; but I think they’d have gone home another way even without the dream. All truly wise men go another way after they have found the Christ! All truly wise men will turn their backs on an old, wrong way of life and walk off instead new creatures in Christ. All truly wise men will take the road that is different. All of you who have made the journey to Bethlehem, who have found the Christ, are now going another way . . . you are truly wise. This is the inevitable sequel to Christmas . . . that we can be a continuing part of the Christmas story. May the radiance of Bethlehem in the days ahead flood our hearts as we manifest to the world . . . “ CHRIST IN US . . . THE HOPE OF GLORY.” Acknowledgement: The writer wishes to acknowledge inspiration received from reading When Christmas Came to Bethlehem, Christ is Always, and Roy Rogers’ Favorite Christmas Story, all published by Revell Pub.
