Biola Broadcaster - 1964-05

the Worm to show us how humble we ought to be, how helpless we are, and He will be the Hen gathering us unto Himself. When sorrows like sea billows roll, WRECKERS AND BUILDERS I watched them tearing a building down A gang of men in a big town. W ith a "heave h o " and a lusty yell They swung a beam and the sidewalk fell. I asked the foreman, "A re these men skilled?" The kind you would hire if you wanted to build?" He laughed and said, "W hy, no in deed, Just labor, common labor, is all I need. They can easily wreck in a day or two What builders have taken years to do." I asked myself as I went my way Which of these rolls have I played today? A s a builder who works with care Measuring his life by rule and square? Shaping my deeds by the verticle plane, Or, am f the wrecker who had lost the town, Beset with the labor of tearing down. He wants us to rest in Him. He will take you in and never cast you out. He will give you peace that passeth understanding. A PLACE TO STAY You may be planning a trip to Southern California in the near fu ture. VITAL NEW BUILDING

B iola C ollege , La Mirada, Cali fornia, has announced the con struction of à men’s residence hall, accommodating 96 men, to be erected on the 75-acre campus. Dr. Samuel H. Sutherland, president, has reported that construction will begin within the very near future. Biola College is one of the five schools of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, Inc., historic Christian train ing center, in which more than 1200 students are enrolled. “Due to limited

residence facilities on campus,” Dr. Sutherland pointed out, “each day we have had to transport to the campus more than 300 of the students from our buildings in downtown Los An geles.” Dr. Sutherland further stated it is anticipated that within the pres ent school year a third women’s resi dence hall will be constructed on the campus. Contractors for the $300,000.00 structure are Myers Brothers Con struction Company. Mr. William C. Ullrich, AIA, is the architect. Other current construction on the campus consists of a $350,000.00 music facil ity which will include a 450-seat re cital hall and a new Shantz, three- manual pipe organ. 28
