CHRIST IN THE HUMAN K INGDOM

P erhaps t h e most interesting realm of God’s entire creation is the won derful human body. Hunger tells us when to seek food, drowsiness occurs when we need sleep. The structure of the anatomy is simply marvelous. In John 19:5 we read, “Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, ‘Behold the man.’ ” Let us also behold Him today. No one else can possibly compare with Him. Look at Him at the grave of Lazarus saying, “Lazarus, come forth!” We don’t know how Lazarus got out of the grave clothes, but he did it at the Lord’s command. You plant a bean and in a few days leaves, as soft as velvet, have pushed up big clods of dirt. This is the same type of miracle of God. He has won derful life-giving power. Then behold Christ walking on the water. When He got in the boat He calmed the storm as well as the disci ples. Quite often when the wind quits the waves will keep on for a long time. But not so in this case. This is how He wants to quiet our own hearts. Behold Him feeding the 5,000 men along with all of the women and chil dren from five loaves and two little fishes. How could this be? There are many things I can’t understand. You tell me how water gets up to the top of a tree? Osmosis won’t do it! Tell me how one can plant a certain seed in one place and then, a foot away, plant another. The first one gives us oranges and the second brings forth apples. Still others may bring forth potatoes and watermelons. In Song of Solomon 5:16 we are told that He is the Altogether Lovely One. That is beautiful. I have seen men who have handsome forms, but horri ble characters. I have seen men with attractive faces but ugly feet. Our Lord is altogether lovely: His character, His
conduct, His way, His physical appear ance, His voice, His love, everything is absolutely beautiful. The more time you spend with Him the more you will love Him. In Genesis 2:18 we read, “It is-not good that the man should be alone.” While this has a primary reference to LIVING THE WAY WE PRAY I knelt to pray when the day was done, A nd prayed, "O , Lord, bless every one; Lift from each saddened heart the pain. And let the sick be well again." And then I woke another day And carelessly went on my way. The whole day long I did not try To wipe a tear from any eye. I did not try to share the load, O f any brother on the road; I did not even go to see The sick man just next door to me. A nd once again, when the day was done I prayed: "O , Lord, bless everyone." But as I prayed, into my ear There came a voice, that whispered clear; "Pause, hypocrite, before you pray; Whom have you tried to bless today? God's sweetest blessings always go To hands that serve Him here below." And then I hid my face and cried, "Forgive me, God, for I have lied; Let me but live another day And I will live the way I pray." Adam, I believe it also applies to the Saviour. God wants us to be with Him forever. He is not willing that any should perish. God is going to have all kinds of people living with Him in heaven through the redemptive power 29
