Mommy & me 6 entertainment ideas for mom and baby (or toddler!) during the winter months 1 Check out the new play studio Mon Ami. With open play hours Monday through Saturday, the Montessori-inspired indoor playground, located in The Village, is designed for ages 6 months through 5 years. 2 Plan a visit to your local bookstore. Many bookstores host weekly story times, which are a perfect way to discover new reads and boost early literacy learning. 3 Treat yourself to a visit to a kid-friendly coffee shop. Our staff favorites are Not Your Average Joe, Junction Coffee and Sweet Friends Bakery. 4 Pop into your local library. Peruse the shelves for your childhood favorites and find a quiet spot to snuggle up with a good book. 5 Explore colorful art at museums such as Oklahoma City Museum of Art or Oklahoma Contemporary. The bright contrast common in contemporary art and OKCMOA’s Chihuly glass are particularly engaging for baby’s developing color vision. Bonus: OKCMOA is offering free admission on the second Sunday of each month. Plus, kids 17 and under always get in free and Oklahoma Contemporary is always free. 6 Go on a nature walk. Make the most of warmer days and get outside! Myriad Gardens offers free guided garden tours on select Fridays and Saturdays and Scissortail Park has a free walking club that meets on Thursday mornings, weather permitting.
