ICSC-2024-Annual-Report-Final

Conclusion There is no doubt that 2024 brought with it new challenges, elevated risks and disappointing setbacks to everyone committed to safeguarding human rights and democratic values. But remember: Challenges and setbacks are not new to Sites of Conscience. For over 25 years, these singular and irreplaceable spaces have been models of resistance and resilience, reminding communities around the world that through the power of memory and new understandings, not only can we envision more equitable systems, we can enact them. Memory is the most powerful weapon there is for positive transformation. Sites of Conscience remain undaunted in carrying out this work – no matter how volatile the cultural climate is – and ICSC will be there to support them. We hope you join us in this great movement for memory, it is your support that allows this work to continue.
