Yoga for school age children provides a fun and engaging way for children to practice mindfulness, body awareness, balance, strength and flexibility in a non-competitive and compassionate environment. Traditional yoga poses will be explored using child friendly language, games and traditional yoga sequencing. In addition, yoga provides children with increased focus, confidence and the ability to work through everyday frustrations in a calm manner. An eclectic sampling of our best art projects, this spring students will take home creations they can be proud of. Dabble in the world of legends and lore through art. Our newest member to join the menagerie is The Grootslang! Students will try their hand at planning and creating their own work through animation and product design. They will get inspired by the work of Hannah Hoch and be challenged to change the world through their own work. The Upcycle Academy: Fashion Design for Sustainable Style Instructor: Krista Allison Do you have a passion for fashion? Do you like being creative? How about having FUN with friends while you make something amazing. Join THE UPCYCLE ACADEMY for our Fashion Design after school program. Brought to you by fashion industry experts (New York/Los Angeles) and current fashion university students (from Kent State University). We teach fashion design principles through educational and fun hands- on activities. All apparel and upcycling materials are provided (bring your own if you want to make it extra special). Beginner In-Line & Roller Skating Instructor: CVRR Staff Skate like the pros! The course includes five lessons and the sixth class allows students a chance to show family and friends what they’ve learned in a fun-time skate. Students can use in-line or roller skates or rent them free of charge from the rink.
