UPHOLDING VALUES, BUILDING LEGACIES Our New Attorney Shares His Love for Law
While I may be a new face here at the firm, I will have been practicing law for 10 years as of this December! I am thrilled to join Tittle & Perlmuter at this stage of my career and continue following this passion of mine. I am not joking when I say I knew I wanted to be an attorney my whole life. When I was a kid, my father was a county prosecutor serving his community by getting justice for victims and their families. I remember watching him in court and even attending a few of his trials. I was (and still am) so inspired by him! Going to court with my dad provided me a glimpse of what a career as a lawyer would look like, but more importantly, it showed me the impact a lawyer can have by uplifting others. It was then when I made up my mind about my career. By the time I reached high school, I already had my sights set on law school. While I knew I wanted to be a lawyer, I had no idea what type of law I wanted to practice. My dad and I would discuss that issue frequently, and his advice was always the same: “Find your passion in the law.” As I was finishing my undergraduate years and preparing to enter law school, I was still unsure what area of law to focus on. That was when I got my first job in a law firm. It was a firm that specifically worked on protecting nursing home residents. I worked in a variety of roles at that firm which allowed me to witness the inner workings of a legal team, and the positive effect a law firm dedicated to getting justice can have on those who have had their lives turned upside down by catastrophic injuries. Helping those who had been mistreated did not feel like “work,” it
was a calling, and it became clear to me that this was my passion in the law. I genuinely feel it is our responsibility to protect our most vulnerable adults who are far too often victimized. When I met with Allen and Scott, everything seemed to fall into place. I told them I believed in their work, and what drew me to Tittle & Perlmuter was the opportunity to get justice for victims of nursing home abuse and neglect, and medical negligence. Since starting in February, I have already had the opportunity to do just that. Despite still being relatively new here, I can tell just how close this team is and the authentic compassion they have for our clients. Everyone is like a family, and this positivity makes it to our cases and clients. I have received the warmest of welcomes, and I cannot wait to continue serving our current and future clients. Of course, there’s more to my life than just the law: I have my family. All my free time (however little that may be) is spent with my wife and son. My son, who will be 16 years old this year, golfs and plays baseball. I have coached his summer baseball team for the past seven seasons, which I always look forward to doing. I will be out on the field again this year, all season long, with him and even my dad, my assistant coach! It’s all three generations spending their summer on the baseball field, making memories, and I would not trade it for the world. The three of us share another interest — the law! My son recently participated in the mock trial program at his high school and expressed interest in pursuing a law degree. He regularly goes to court with my dad, who is now a judge
and currently serving his fourth term, to watch lawyers in action, just like I did when I was a kid. I would be happy if he followed any dream, but it does make me proud that he is interested in continuing this family legacy. As I embark on this new journey at Tittle & Perlmuter, I am committed to giving my best to each client, every day. It has been a pleasure sharing a little about myself with you. I look forward to working with all of you and upholding the values of justice, compassion, and integrity that define our firm.

You can’t live without your liver. Livers help clean blood, ensuring your body is free from toxins. It also produces bile, an acid that digests waste. Unfortunately, livers can be damaged in a myriad of ways. Catching liver disease early allows doctors to treat it quickly, so it’s crucial to check for any symptoms of liver problems, especially if you are at risk. 1. Yellow Skin Commonly called “jaundice,” a yellowing of the skin and eyes is a telltale sign of liver disease. The liver’s inability to filter out bilirubin causes this unseemly syndrome. This important yellow substance is made during the breakdown of blood cells and used by the body to help digest food. A healthy, functioning liver filters out most bilirubin. 2. Itching Besides jaundice, a common symptom of bilirubin buildup is itchy skin. Bilirubin creates “bile salts” that are deposited into the skin. The result is intense itchiness. Note that itching can be from a variety of causes, including allergies. 3. Spider Angioma These superficial red marks appear as a mass of tendrils centering around one point and look like a spider. While they are relatively WHAT YOUR SKIN SAYS ABOUT YOUR LIVER HEALTH
common, an excess of spider angioma can indicate liver problems. Having three or more at a time can be a sign of a more significant issue, including hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, or cirrhosis. 4. Red Palms Rashy red palms — or palmer erythema — can point to many problems. Excess estrogen causes this symptom, so hormonal changes are often the culprit. Nonetheless, liver disease makes it difficult for the body to break down estrogen. 5. Easy Bruising Clotting proteins, which help the body repair injuries, are produced in the liver. If the liver is diseased or damaged, it may produce fewer proteins. In addition, liver disease lowers the amount of blood platelets. This also can cause easy bruising. LOVE YOUR LIVER No one can live without a functioning liver, so protect the health of your liver. Drinking in moderation, taking vitamin B, and getting regular exercise can promote a healthy liver.

PROTECT YOUR HOME FROM THE SILENT THREAT Unveiling the Dangers of Gas Leaks and Explosions Gas Utility Workers work tirelessly to keep our gas systems safe and operational, and on Natural Gas Utility Workers’ Day this March 18, we want to thank those who prioritize our safety. However, the reality is that gas explosions can still occur, and the consequences are devastating. THE SILENT THREAT OF GAS EXPLOSIONS Gas explosions are often silent threats until they become catastrophic events. Home explosions can result for several reasons, including: • Gas Leaks: Gas leaks can occur in appliances, pipelines, or service lines, which can accumulate, ignite, and lead to an explosion. • Electrical Malfunctions: Electrical fires or malfunctions can cause gas and other flammable materials to ignite and explode. • Fracking or Hydraulic Fracturing: High-pressure fracturing can lead to gas release. • Improper Maintenance: Gas explosions can occur when gas companies do not maintain the line. No matter the cause, the consequences of a gas explosion can be severe, including serious injuries, fatalities, extensive property damage, and the displacement of families. HOW TO PREVENT GAS EXPLOSIONS To prevent gas explosions, it’s crucial to conduct regular inspections, maintain your gas pipelines and appliances, have appliances professionally installed, practice proper ventilation, and always have functioning smoke detectors, which can help minimize risks. ALWAYS SEEK LEGAL GUIDANCE If you or a loved one has been injured in a gas explosion, you must obtain legal support. Our team at Tittle & Perlmuter has the experience and expertise to handle gas explosion cases, holding negligent parties accountable and fighting for the compensation you deserve. If a gas explosion occurs, contacting an attorney promptly is crucial. Time is essential in investigating the explosion’s root cause and ensuring that the right experts are involved. If you have been affected by a gas explosion, don’t hesitate to contact us for support.
