Changes in employment law, and specifically for paid sick leave, have altered the way its president and CEO Will Seppi structures time off for his numerous workers. In 2015, when a California law was implemented granting employees three paid sick days per year, or 24 hours, Seppi transitioned away from the paid time off (PTO) model he had been using, and divided wages into a sick day “bucket” and a vacation day bucket.
