SEASONAL INSIGHTS
YOGA : Find poses guided here: www.cdbaby.com/cd/anjalisunita
Perfect Turnip Greens Greens are a perfect thing to cook in our spring season. And while the air is still a little cool, they can be cooked with a little heat. In summer, omit the onion and garlic, and it will still be delicious.
• More Sun Salutations and heating practices. • Heating standing poses, like Virabadhrasana 1,2,3 series. • Chest openers for the lungs, like most back-bending asanas, such as Dhanurasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Matsyasana. • Overall, a more vigorous practice to induce mobile quality in the body, move stagnation of lymphatic system, and sweat. PRANAYAMA : Full guided pranayama practice found here: www. cdbaby.com/cd/anjalisunita2
You’ll need: Large bunch of turnip greens, washed and chopped 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1/3 a red onion (optional) 1 Quart chicken stock (or vegetable stock) Salt to taste (if not enough in the stock) Black pepper (plenty!)

Combine all the dry ingredients in the stock, and let simmer over low heat for one hour, stirring occasionally. Serve as a side dish with your favorite rice, risotto, or protein.
• Try a salt scrub. 1/2 cup oil mixed with 1/2 cup coarse salt. Rub all over the body for exfoliation and movement of lymph. Then take a hot shower without soap. • Self Abhyanga: 10–15 minutes vigorous oil massage followed by hot shower with oils like sunflower, mustard, or flax (assuming abhyanga is indicated for you) or dry heat sauna. • 1/2 cup ginger powder and baking soda bath Don’t push yourself frantically at the season’s turn. Rest, snuggle up just a bit longer… Be kind to yourself, and remember it is still cool outside. Ease into movement and then turn it up! Nature intended us some rest, some movement, and invites us to meditate with her.
