going on. And what is usually happening underneath it all is a lava of fear. Fear of not getting what I want or losing something I have. When in actuality I have everything I need, as nature provides it. My egoic preferences fall away and I can enjoy the beauty of my surroundings and the oneness with all. When was the last time you laid in the grass and felt the earth beneath you? Modern lifestyle separates humans from such contact with the earth, and research suggests this disconnect may be a ma- jor contributor to physiological dysfunction and unwellness. A simple and practical way to reconnect with nature is called “earthing” (also known as grounding; learn more about the magic and science of earth- ing, at www.earthing.com), which can be achieved by simply walking barefoot. This contact of skin to earth dissipates static electricity and gives us access to a limitless and continuously renewed supply of free or mobile electrons, guiding your body to synchronize with the earth’s natural frequencies and rhythms. Research conducted by the Nation- al Institutes of Health reveals that contact of the human body with the surface of the earth produces intriguing effects on physiology and health, including inflammation, immune responses, wound healing, pain management, and prevention and treatment of chronic inflam - matory and autoimmune diseases. Give it a try! Stand outside barefoot for a few minutes each day. Earthing, among many other ways we can more intimately convene with our miraculous planet, helps us continually clear the clutter, re- open our natural channel, and come back to our core. We must re- member who we are and trust the unwavering strength and faith that does not collapse under pressure, that can withstand all storms. Re- turn to the Self that is pure awareness without any expectations, dis- appointments, or pain. Tune into your true nature and enjoy the wild ride we call life. Physical fitness, mental health, and spiritual wellness have become a priority in our modern world. We want to get better, feel better, be bet- ter. Sometimes we seek transformative elements we hope will change us into a new person altogether, because our culture has convinced us we are flawed and need something to fix ourselves. We are subjected to a never-ending barrage of offerings that make us feel we are phys - ically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually incomplete on our own. But the truth is we aren’t incomplete, and we aren’t trying to become someone brand new. What we actually want is to renew, revitalize, and restore our natural state of being. We want to return to who we truly are — that young innocent child, before the world started piling on layers of societal conditioning, cultural paradigms, and unhelpful messaging. We are recalling our truth, our wild, our bare bones and pure soul. We are recalling what it feels like to be whole. It is there we can sharpen our focus, tap into our intuition, trust our instincts, express ourselves without shame, and access that primal wisdom. The reason we feel a sense of momentary bliss during Yoga, med - itation, relaxing on the beach, or engaged in any healing practice is because we are experiencing a remembrance, a familiarity and align- ment with our true self. We are perceiving our world sensorily and opening up to the present moment. There is a reason many of us are drawn to animals, scenic views, the quiet and mystery of the forest. We don’t “go into nature” for a break; we are nature and nature is us. The circumstances that have become our normal are very UNnatural. Disconnecting with these artificial spaces shouldn’t be considered go - ing offline. We aren’t unplugging. We are plugging back into our wild unfurled selves, our home. This is why I feel an instant sense of inner peace when I am in my backyard with my chickens or sitting alone in the woods. It allows me to loosen the clamps on my heart and untie the knots in my mind, to peel back the layers of surface issues and figure out what is actually
