renowned EVOL to a new Prefeeder, MHI is committed to delivering quality products and support corrugated manu- facturers can rely on. “On the heels of over 200 successful EVOL installa- tions, as of 2023, MHI is also on-track to install its latest Prefeeder (MPF) to a box plant early this year. The MPF ensures faster throughput and front of the line reliability required to keep MHI’s premium line of EVOL box making equipment functioning with maximum efficiency. “With its first batch stacking function and high speed stable stacking, the MPF delivers sheets to top printing flexo folder gluers (FFG) at speeds of 400 boxes per min- ute without interruption between stacks. It can run a con- tinuous shingle of either single-wall or double-wall sheets with a minimum sheet of 8.7 x 27.2 and a maximum sheet of 37 x 100 and features a lifting device that reverses the sheet stack. “Our research indicates that 50 percent of equipment downtime is caused by auxiliary equipment, with the pre- feeder accounting for 38 percent of that number. The new Mitsubishi Prefeeder dramatically reduces downtime and maximizes the productive potential of EVOL. “Furthering the call to minimize downtime, MHI also unveils its new Production Improvement Program (PIP). The four-month program consists of eight visits by an MHI consultant who will offer training, analysis and continuous support for the duration of the program. Working closely with plant management and maintenance operators, ex- perts will guide users on how to get EVOL machines to original equipment manufacturer specs and keep it there. “During the analysis portion of the PIP, CNC production tools are utilized to monitor component wear. The data is recorded and analyzed to indicate when improvements are needed. This information, along with full details of OEM processes and procedures are shared separately to encourage ongoing efforts once program is completed. “We are honored to work closely with our customers and want to ensure they have the best chance at success. The PIP offers box plants a way to mitigate and manage total OEE in-house.” For more information, visit mhicorrugating.com .
