HOW MANY ARE IN THE TEAM? Two – Mark Cornock and Michael Smiles.

MARK CORNOCK As head of the B2B sales team, my role covers three sales areas within the group: HTOL, business travel sales, and Hays Travel Independence Group recruitment. I love that my role is diverse and every day brings something very different. I can speak to a manufacturing company in the morning about their business travel needs, then review how we are promoting and trading with HTOL in the afternoon, before speaking to someone looking to start their journey with a brand new travel business in the Independence Group. the performance and stability of the booking tools. The fact that we have everyone working on the same page to improve and deliver an even better service is something we are proud of. WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE CHALLENGES FOR YOUR TEAM? HOW ARE THEY OVERCOME? The tour operation landscape is full of specialists and well-established big players; competing with these guys is definitely our biggest challenge, but a challenge we relish!

WHAT DO YOU THINK HAVE BEEN YOUR TEAM’S GREATEST SUCCESSES IN THE LAST YEAR? We have established a working group consisting of department heads, managers and John Hays to discuss HTOL and the projects we are working on. This includes improving the hotel offering in the agent portal, creating recommended properties across the portfolio, and looking at ways to improve
