A D A Y I N T H E L I F E NICOLA ARMSTRONG

06:00 After five days off on annual leave in Tenerife, it’s time to get up and get ready for my first day back at work. 07:30 I leave earlier than usual so I can catch up on my emails and work before the rest of the team come into the office. 08:00 Arrive at the office and it’s a good job with 99 emails to catch up on, and lots of communications in regards to changes and updates within the department whilst I have been off. 09:00 It’s time for our morning team talk, which is a great opportunity to catch up with everyone, and discuss how we performed the previous day as well as discussing any challenges we faced and what we

learnt. I’m delighted to hear we are overachieving in all areas so big smiles all round. We then set our objectives for the day ahead, and are all raring to go! 10:00 Time for a catch up meeting with Tracey and Joanne to get brought up- to-date with what’s been going on in the department whilst I have been off, although it feels like I have never been away. I see a few calls in the queue so it’s back on the floor to help clear them. 11:30 One of our team leaders, Tasha, comes in to start her late shift and hands over the laptop and on-call phone. It’s now my turn on call to cover the out of hours emergency line. Anth and Tasha kindly covered three days of my week due to annual leave so it’s only a short week for me this time.

PREVIOUS JOBS: I did a year apprenticeship in the flights department with Hays Travel. HOBBIES: Going on holiday and going out with friends. BEST THING ABOUT YOUR JOB: Working as a team and the people I work with. WORST THING ABOUT YOUR JOB: Losing sleep.
