fundraising activities and are given full control over where the money is donated, which means the money raised is put to best use in each local community and year after year the teams outdo themselves.” The biggest ever match-making event took place with more than 50 suppliers involved, and evening events included a blue and orange night and West End themed fancy dress, as well as the gala dinner and awards evening. Jane Schumm said: “As always at conference, we worked hard and played hard. But this year was extra special. It was such a fantastic opportunity, just four weeks after our Thomas Cook colleagues joined us, to get to know each other, celebrate, learn a lot, and have loads of fun. Our conferences are legendary but this one was on a scale we’d never done before! “Something really important to me at conference is ensuring that we recognise, reward and celebrate all the hard work and dedication of our managers over the past year. And this year I also got to say thank you in person to all our new managers who have put so much effort into getting their shops back up and running as quickly as possible. With all these amazing new people on board, I can’t wait to see where we can take things in 2020!”
