The Hays Travel Foundation has had yet another successful year helping charities working with young people, while our branches have made huge contributions within their local communities.

ZOE’S PLACE is a registered charity providing palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants aged from birth to five years. We granted £5,000 to help support their pre and post bereavement counselling services. Jane Schumm, Retail & Training Director, along with Mandy Sousa, Hays Travel Foundation representative and Kelly Coley, Middlesbrough Branch Manager, visited the hospice to see the amazing work they are doing and present Zoe’s Place with the cheque. GRANTED £ 5,000

WESSEX CANCER TRUST

offer support to people living with cancer. They received £6,602 to cover the costs of a new counselling project for children affected by cancer. GRANTED £ 6,602

Our teams have organised a variety of fundraising activities from skydiving and abseiling to good old fashioned cake sales and coach trips. However, we have also seen some new initiatives such as Bonkers Bingo and in-store flight simulators.

This year alone, our branches have contributed more than £57,564 to various charitable causes close to their hearts. In 2019, 65 requests have met the criteria for match-funding by the Hays Travel Foundation, resulting in an additional £36,215 being donated to charities working in our areas.

We have also continued to support many amazing applications from charities working to improve the lives of young people. This year, our trustees have approved just over £300,000 for various projects across the UK that will benefit the communities in which we operate.
