T R A V E L T E A M MY STORY

/////////////////

As well as being fab at our jobs, many of the Hays Travel team have talents outside of work. In this issue we hear from a cheerleader, an actor and a marching jazz band member.

to cheerleading and joined the North East Cheer Allstars in South Shields. I competed until the age of 20, and for the last two years have been coaching. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY: Cheerleading has given me so many amazing experiences and introduced me to some of the people I call my best friends, but I think my best memories would have to be becoming two times European Champions and then getting the opportunity to represent the country, competing at the World Championships in Thailand! In my time as a cheerleader I have competed at three European Championships and one World Championships, as well as in numerous national and regional competitions. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVE CAN YOU DESCRIBE IT FOR US: Surprisingly there is more to cheerleading than waving pompoms and cheering on football teams. There are different elements to a cheer routine such as tumbling, stunts, pyramids, and dance, so that’s quite a hard question! My favourite part would be either tumbling, which is basically backflips, or pyramids, which includes linking stunts together and holding multiple cheerleaders in the air together on top of each other!
