people from Hays and also meeting new suppliers. Thank you for inviting me.” Annabel Brooke “I had an amazing time, but the main thing I got out of the conference was feeling part of the Hays Travel PTC and homeworker family. Being down in the south west and a long way from head office I have always felt a bit isolated. Now having met so many lovely people, I do feel part of a great team. Irene Hays is a wonderful, informative and funny speaker; I could listen to her all day! And John made me think about how I should value my service and experience, it was very thought provoking. I really hope that I will be lucky enough to be invited to next year’s conference.” Jill Orton “It was inspiring and reassuring to chat to the guys who were also from the PTC Academy but had just a few months more experience.” Tony Columbine “Being my first conference with Hays I was a little apprehensive about what it would entail. I needn’t have been. The whole event was amazingly organised and structured, not just for work but for great fun also. There is immense shared knowledge and experience within the company and the welcome from everybody and support I received was overwhelming. Hays really is one big happy family and a great place to work (and have fun).” David Coulter “I wasn’t sure what to expect as this was my first Hays conference. Having attended other overseas conferences with another company I was really impressed with the focus on individuals at the conference and how Hays wants us to grow our businesses with their support. I particularly enjoyed the face- to-face meetings with the suppliers. There was a huge range and variety of companies in attendance, which gave me a fantastic opportunity to discuss future business partnerships with them and how we can work together to make bookings going forward. And the hotel really was out of this world – modern and contemporary - right up my street! Also the food was excellent and always fresh, and the views were spectacular. My favourite moments from conference were taking in the awesome view from my room over the Atlantic, and receiving two performance awards from supplier partners. The conference really encouraged me to consider growing my presence on Facebook, as well as giving me a revitalised approach to dealing with future customers and winning those sales!”
Jenny Cowley “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was looking forward to meeting the other homeworkers, especially as we had talked a lot on the chat group before, and to all the meets and greets with suppliers. Plus, I was looking forward to the hotel - I’d never been to the Algarve before! The location and the hotel were great and I liked that although it was fairly action packed we did have an afternoon free to walk to the local town and use the hotel’s facilities. It was great putting faces to names and making plenty of contacts, both suppliers and other homeworkers. I enjoyed our party nights as well – a great chance to unwind and relax with everyone! My favourite moment was definitely seeing everyone dressed up on the rock
night! But I also really enjoyed our last afternoon sat with our feet in the pool, chatting with the friends we had made over the days before. The conference made me decide to switch to the PTC model. It gave me the confidence to make the jump and gave me a lot of good tips on how to grow a business. I also made some great contacts which have really helped with finding deals and getting things sorted for clients when needed!” Congratulations to the Hays Homeworkers who won the Best Performing Homeworkers award at the Jet2holidays conference in November!
