Customer relations team search out ‘boo boo’ for boy recovering from cancer
Sam and his ‘boo boos’
The customer relations team definitely went the extra mile for a customer recently when they searched out a specific teddy for a little boy in remission from cancer. Lesley Reeve wrote to the team saying, ‘I know this sounds a bit cheeky’, but she had been on a Thomas Cook flight to Corfu on 29 September when her grandson, Sam, had seen a teddy in the inflight magazine that he really wanted – dressed as a frog, the ‘boo boo’ was
one of a group of teddies that Sam had been collecting for four years. They didn’t have it in stock and Mrs Reeve was told to check on the return flight, but due to the Thomas Cook collapse, this never happened. Mrs Reeve contacted us to see if we had access to the stock of teddies as it would mean the world to her to get it for Sam, who was born with cancer and has been in remission for three years.
Touched by the moving story, the customer relations team worked together to research the specific teddy and eventually found one available on eBay, so they bought it and sent it for Sam! The team received this letter and picture to say thanks for making a little boy very happy. What a lovely story – well done customer relations gang!
