have celebrated excellence in the travel trade for the past 24 years and are regarded as the highest honour in the industry for both individual agents and agencies. This year, Hays won the Large High Street Agency of the Year, Large London and South East England Agency, and Large Yorkshire, North Midlands and North East England categories. We also had finalists in the Apprentice Leisure Agent of the Year and Young Leisure Agent of the Year categories. Well done to Jordan Watson and Rebecca Beedham. Hays Travel staff were also shortlisted in this year’s TTG Travel Awards. Rebecca Holt from the Chapeltown branch was a finalist in the Manager of the Year category, Victoria Burridge from Wimborne in the High Street Agent of the Year category, and Rebecca Beedham from the Metrocentre branch was up for the Young Travel Agent of the Year award. They got to attend the spectacular awards ceremony on 16 September at The Lyceum Theatre in London, with an after-party at the glamorous Savoy London. Hays Travel won both the Large Business of the Year and the Overall Business of the Year titles at this year’s Sunderland Echo Portfolio Awards, in recognition of our incredible year of growth in which we re-opened hundreds of former Thomas Cook shops and saved over 2,000 jobs of Thomas Cook workers.
