What do you do? I am an environmental, health and safety lawyer sitting within the Energy and Natural Resources group. My team covers a range of topics including pollution liability, land remediation, health and safety, chemicals, products regulation, product liability, food safety, producer responsibility and waste management. I am fortunate to get interesting matters across my desk every day, and the work feels very tangible, especially when you see products you have advised on being sold. How would you describe your group? ENR is a friendly and approachable group. There are a variety of specialists within the group, designed to best serve the sector, which leads to opportunities to work with a wide variety of colleagues. People are keen on the social side as well, with a group usually willing to have lunch in the canteen or go for a drink after work. What would appeal to a graduate joining your group? The immense breadth of work and opportunities you’re exposed to within the department. Because of the structure of the group, you get involved with matters that are fundamental to the global energy and commodities industry – such as financing, financial regulation and environmental, health and safety.
