General Information

BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE & SKI/SNOWBOARD CARRIAGE The luggage allowance per person on charter flights is: 1 piece of hold luggage up to 22kg (infants 10kg) and 1 piece of hand luggage up to 10kg, not larger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, depending on the airline (excluding infants). For scheduled flights please confirm your luggage allowance at the time of booking. Excess Luggage charges will be applied at the airport if you exceed the al- lowance. *For Lost/Damaged luggage, please refer to the terms on our website. SKI AND SNOWBOARD CARRIAGE Charter flights - The number of skis/boards that can be carried on charter flights to Bulgaria is limited. Once the limit has been reached only pre-booked skis will be accepted at check-in and other equipment will not be carried. If you have your own equipment, you should pre-book carriage of skis/boards up to 5 days before travelling or they will not be accepted. There is a charge of £20 per set of skis/snowboard for return carriage. The ski/snowboard car- riage weight allowance is 1 bag to hold a pair of boots and second bag for either one pair of skis & poles or one snowboard, the combined weight in total must not exceed 15kg. Bags presented for carriage where the charge per set of equipment has not been pre-paid will be charged for at check-in and the amount will be advised at the airport and is payable prior to check-in. Low Cost & Scheduled flights make a per sector (ie. outbound and home- bound) charge for the carriage of skis/boards (call our Reservations depart- ment for the current prices - the airport price can be considerably higher than the pre-booked price).

Applicable to all airlines: Please note each ski bag should only contain one pair of skis/snowboard. The airlines we use may refuse to accept ski/snow- board bags containing clothing and ski boots, etc. PRE-BOOK YOUR AIRCRAFT SEATING Seats together*, extra legroom and emergency exit seats are available on certain charter flights to Bulgaria. By pre-booking your seats you can guar- antee that you sit beside other members of your party. Most extra legroom seats are adjacent to an emergency exit. It is a requirement of the airlines we work with that a minimum age is met to occupy these seats, please check at the time of booking. For safety reasons, these are only available to passen- gers who are able bodied and of suitable size. Extension seatbelts cannot be provided on emergency exit rows. You must have no medical conditions and, in the opinion of the cabin crew or check-in staff, have the strength and full mobility to open the emergency exit door. Only a limited number of extra legroom seats are available. Please call our Reservations department for further information and prices. *Please note that seats together can be across the aisle. Seat numbers will be allocated at check-in. The airlines reserve the right to re-allocate seats for safety or operational reasons. In such circumstances no refund will be given. FLIGHT DELAYS In the event of a flight delay, it is the responsibility of your airline, and not your tour operator, to keep you informed and to provide you with meals and refreshments in accordance with EU Regulations (copies are available at the airline counter), subject to operational suitability. Further, in the case

ly. We do, however, have some larger twins which can accommodate a third adult. Whenever family rooms / suites are available, the appropriate supple- ment is applied. This type of accommodation is usually open plan, sometimes with an adjoining sitting room. The extra beds will be either a sofa or camp bed. Some furniture may be substituted for the extra beds. Some hotels offer the use of two standard twin rooms connected by a door, each with its separate bathroom. These interconnected rooms are ideal for families with grown up children. Extra allocation rooms: When our allocation is full it may be possible for us to apply for additional rooms, but these may not be offered to us at contract rates and therefore a supplement may apply. This may also apply if we are asked to obtain rooms of a type/standard not included in our normal allocation. Self-Catering apartments - these have a kitchenette with hot plates or micro- wave and fridge and are basically equipped with cutlery, crockery etc. Some apartments store kitchen utilities at the reception and are available upon re- quest. Bed linen and bath towels are provided. Cleaning before your arrival is included. The bedrooms usually have a double bed and the extra beds are usually of a sofa type in the living room. In some studio apartments, the bed may be of sofa type. Baby cots are not available in most of the apartments. The furniture in the apartments may be different, pictures are for illustration only. Some apartments require a holding deposit upon arrival, which will be refunded in full at check-out, minus the cost of any breakages that may occur during your holiday. Bathrooms - a typical bathroom in our destinations is small and consists of a toilet, a basin and a shower with no curtain or tray, and a central drain in the floor. This is normal! If you need a larger bathroom this may be available at 4 or 5 star properties and booking a roomwith a bath (there is always shower over the bath). Lifts - if a hotel offers lift facilities, be aware that it may be withdrawn from time to time for essential maintenance work. Please note that the withdrawal of such facilities is outside of our direct control. Many lifts offered may com- mence on a floor other than ground level and may be reached by stairs. Wi-Fi - where Wi-Fi or internet access is indicated in a property description, this belongs to the property and its availability is outside our control. No guar- antee is given or implied that it will be operative during your holiday, you will not be advised in advance if this facility is removed and no compensation or refund will be paid if it is not available for whatever reason. of an extended delay, it is the responsibility of the airline, and not your tour operator, to make arrangements for overnight accommodation, subject to availability and operational feasibility. We recommend you check your travel insurance policy for any flight delay cover you may have under your policy. Please note that any flight delay related claim you may wish to make under EU Regulations 261/2004, must be addressed to the airline concerned, and not Balkan Holidays Limited, as the Regulations apply only to the airline. FLIGHT TIMINGS & ROUTES Flight timings, routings and carriers are all provisional and may be changed. Any changes will be notified to you prior to your departure. Actual flight de- tails will be shown on your tickets and confirmed upon check-in. TICKETS Your tickets will be sent via email unless otherwise specified. It is your re- sponsibility to ensure that the email address on your booking is correct. If your departure is less than 10 days please ensure you take a copy of your confirmation invoice to the airport as proof of booking. PREGNANCY Airlines we work with vary from 26-36 weeks (depending on the airline), as to when a pregnant passenger must have a medical certificate for fitness to travel. Please confirm prior to booking what the conditions are for the carrier you will be flying with. After 34 weeks, with certain airlines, permission to travel is refused.
