Objects: Two pencils and an iron bolt about the same size as the pen cils. Lesson: Jim, try to break this pen cil. “ Sure, that’s easy.” Yes, it is quite easy for you to break it. It was easy for Satan in the garden of Eden to tempt Adam and Eve and win a great victory over the human family. It was quite easy for Satan to tempt King Saul and cause him to do things that were contrary to the will of God. Not only was Saul’s life taken, but his kingdom was de stroyed also. I am going to place this other pencil by the side of this strong bolt and see if Jim can break it. “ Of course not; who could?” If we let this bolt remind us of the Lord, it will teach us a valuable les son. I f Saul had stayed close to the Lord, he would not have lost his life and his kingdom. Lord, his kingdom was set aside. Be cause David followed the Lord, and walked close to Him, his kingdom was established. The broken pencil re minds us of Saul, and the unbroken one of David. If I should remove this pencil from the bolt even an inch it could easily be broken. Its safety is in staying close to the bolt. In Second Samuel 5:10, we read, “And David went on, and grew great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.” This lesson applies to our lives to day as truly as it did in the days of Saul and David. We read in Psalm 125:1, “ They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which can not be removed, but abideth for ever.” If we want to be strong, we should remember that those who trust in the Lord and abide by Him, will be kept, even as David of old.

placed on the inside of the coil will become magnetized. Wrap the coil with adhesive tape and print the word “ GOD” on it). Lesson: Would you like to have a lesson in making magnets? First, I made a coil by wrapping several lay ers of fine covered wire around a small cardboard tube. Next, we con nect the ends of the wire to the bat teries. If we place a piece of iron or steel inside the coil, it will become magnetized immediately. We will use this nail. Watch the nail jump up and down. (Hold the bottom of the coil about two inches from the table. Make and break the contact with the batteries rapidly, and the nail will jump up and down). This nail reminds me of Elijah when he went before Ahab and said, “As the Lord God of Israel liveth, be fore whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but ac cording to my word” (1 Kings 17:1). As the coil gives power to the nail, so God empowered Elijah to stand be fore the king. After Elijah had delivered this message he was told to go to the brook T H E K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S
